Even after hitting the restart button the washer will act like it's going to work through all of the cycles and it stops while in the wash mode. The tag lights (red) will still be on but the dishwasher isn't running. I'll hit restart and it will start washing all over again but will never get to the other cycles.

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

I had the same problem. I switched to a gel dishwashing liquid and added about 1/2 cup of white vinegar to each wash cycle. (Just pour the vinegar in a cup, put it in the dishwasher and let the water fill the cup and disperse the vinegar.) Gradually you can reduce the amount of vinegar that you use. Worked for me, hope it does the same for you.
