What software? Are you saying the computer shuts down? If so, Open the computers Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, open Change Plan settings, set Display and Hibernate to NEVER in Plugged In, open Change advanced power setting, Change Hibernate to Never. Open the Advanced settings and adjust to your preference. Open the Personalize section by right clicking in a open spot on the desktop, Personallize, set Screen Saver time to your preference. Always shut your PC/Laptop when not in use. A laptop should be unplugged as well. Your computer will last longer and a reset/reboot is beneficial to a computer.

I have issues with the second ATI FirePro V7800 card. I am running Window 7 pro - 64 bit. The motherboard is ASUS Sabertooth X58. Intel Corei7. Corsair 24 GB. Both two cards were working fine...

In order to further troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend the following:

Uninstall the ATI drivers from your computer.
Shut down the computer.
Remove the ATI card from your computer, and connect your monitor to the onboard video adapter.
Turn on the computer.
Ensure the ATI software was infact removed.
Shut down the computer
Reinstall the ATI video Card
Turn On the computer
Reinstall the ATI drivers ensuring to select the proper "CrossFire" configuration

Why the windows was shut down automatically ?

Hello,

Some programs after installation will auto reboot the computer but this is not common. One option you have to find out why the computer restarted is to go to Even Viewer and look over the Windows log files. You can do this in windows 7 by clicking on Start then typing event viewer and select "view events".

When the event viewer window comes up you can view your computer log files and possibly find out why it was restarted.

Mac cannot see 750GB maxtor 4

Did you disconnect the firewire drive before installing? You may need to update your firmware. Also, try these things:

1. Shut down and disconnect your firewire drive leaving nothing is connected to the firewire ports.
2. Restart, and use Disk Utility to repair permissions on your internal.
3. Shut down, and disconnect the AC power from the computer and your drive; also remove battery if laptop.
4. Let computer sit unpowered and disconnected for15 minutes.
5. Reconnect AC power to only the computer and reinsert battery.
6. Restart computer.
7. Verify that firewire ports are visible using System Profiler.
8. Reconnect your firewire drive, and refresh window in System Profiler to rescan the firewire bus, and confirm that drive is visible.
9. Repair disk and permissions on the firewire drive.

Will not print at all. have reinstall driver, check port but printer is still not communicating with computer. Please advice

Greetings,

Oftentimes the uninstall and re-install of a printer driver/software package is not thorough.

These are the steps.

1. Uninstall the printer from the contorl panel and always choose complete removal of all associated items or preferences.
2. Restrat the computer
3. Go to the Lexmark Support Page and forget you own a disk. Track down the exact model of your printer and your current operating system
4. Download the driver/software by saving it to your desktop, not RUN.
5. Hold down the Windows Logo key at bottom left of keyboard and press the R key. Your temp file window will appear (uninstalls leave behind unwanted and interfering files that Lexmark does not remove as it should). Delete every file in that window that "Windows" (whatever version) will allow.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Disconnect your printer from the computer but leave it powered on
8. Double click on file on your Desktop for the new install of your printer driver/software. DO NOT connect the printer until prompted.
9. Complete the installation.

My rca m4304-A mp3 player says profiling requires 20mb free space shutting down and then when i try to hook it up to the computer it will not show that it is hooked to the computer and goes off

Restoring RCA M4304A Recorder Firmware

Symtom: recorder shows OPAL splash screen, then shows "profiling requires20mb of free space, shutting down" and then shuts down. Recorder cannot be accessed by windows or the RCA easyrip software.

Solution: Use the firmware update found here: http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/downloads/OPAL_066F_85A4_85A5_0_1140_SIG.EXE

This update needs to be ran on an xp computer running 32 bitOS. It was tested in a Win 7 64bitmachine and proven to not work.

Necessary steps taken to get the firmware to properlyrestore were as follows:

1. Hold in the power (menu) button for 10 seconds(the splash screen will show and it will give the error message, ignore it)

2. While still holding the power button, press theplay/pause button and hold down.

3. Release the power button while still holdingdown the play/pause button and wait 5 seconds.

4. While still holding the play/pause button plugin the usb cable to the recorder. Continue to hold the play/pause button foranother 5 seconds after plugging the cable in.

5. Release the play pause button then launch theEXE for the firmware update. Minimize the instruction screen so you can see thefull update screen.

6. Leave the format checkbox checked (check it ifit isn't checked) formatting is crucial to this working.

7. Once the status in the update window changesfrom initializing to ready click start to update the recorder. It will go through formatting, then updating.

8. Once the status shows complete disconnect therecorder and with any luck the recorder is usable again. The media files will obviously have to bereloaded, but the recording is functional at least.

I think I may have a virus but I'm not sure. When I start-up it says "windows has encountered a critical problem" and then it restarts. But then it keeps restarting over and over and over again. And I cant...

Follow the steps below to restore Windows then run your virus scanning software-
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Turn the computer on and immediately press F8 repeatedly until you get the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
3. use the down arrow to select "Safe Mode" and press enter.
4. Window is should start with a "Help" window.
5. In the help window there is an underlined "What is System Restore?"
Click on that and "Click to open System Restore"
6. click on that and a new window comes up recommending restoring to a previous state.
7. Click ok and the operating system should restore your computer successfully and reboot into normal mode.

Thanks

My computer runs window 7 and it keeps shutting down for no reason and also it keeps freezes for sometime.

Reboot the computer in "Safe" mode and run it for a while and see if the same problems occur. If it doesn't, then I would suspect it is a software and not a hardware problem.

If you think it is a software problem, reboot the computer into safe mode again. Now click the start button and in the search box type MSCONFIG

When the window pops up click the "Selective Startup" button and then on the startup tab. Deselect all the checked boxes, click apply and ok, reboot the computer normally.

Now only the essential services will load and no programs will automatically load. If the computer continues to run normally, then you can go back into MSCONFIG go to the strat tab and start checking a few boxes to start again, like antivirus and malware first. Reboot the computer and see if it freezes with those programs running....if it does then you know one of those is the culprit, if not click a few more on and reboot until you find the trouble software.
