I just got a new 4th generation ipod for Christmas and I can not figure out how to turn it off. I try holding the play/pause button like the manual says and the screen darkens as if it was in a sleep mode. As soon as you touch any button or shake it in any way the srceen lights back up. I have been locking it after attempting to turn it off, but the ipod is never fully turned off. My sister who also got the same ipod just different color has the same problem. So I don't know if it is suppose to do this or if there is something wrong. Please help if anyone knows what to do!!!!!! My 4th generation nano is frozen and is "connected" It wont turn off or go to the menu, and it dosn't appear on my computer

no there is nothing wrong. This is normal, after you turn it off by pressing the hold/pause button switch it into the locked position. When you take the lock off and press anything it will come back on exactly where you left it. Don't worry it is not faulty. it is supposed to do this.
I hope this helps

Slide the switch on top of the Nano 4th generation. That will lock the key pad. You mut unlock it to resume playing .
