SOURCE: GE MODEL 28112 DECT 6.0 CORDLESS PHONE

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.

#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.

reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

SOURCE: new ge dect 6.0 phone receives calls but won't ring out loud

I had the same problem and it persisted for a few days. Once i sat down and found the manual at ge's home electronics website, the problem was resolved. This is a little embarasing because it's quite an easy fix. my phone handset was displaying a musical note with a line through it. This is to show that the "Do Not Disturb" function is enabled. There is an illuminated button on the base that says do not disturbe.... i hit the button and the ringer works again. If you had the same problem, you are not alone my friend. Time to double our ginko intake for the day. *laugh*

Wish to stop unwanted calls

That can be difficult, since even if the phone itself or your carrier has call blocking capabilities, most of the nuisance callers have many different numbers that they can use to call from, and will simply change to another one if you block one. The best solution is to have Caller ID, and any call that blocks their number, or any number that you don't recognize or expect a call from, simply don't answer it. That is the most effective way to stop the calls from coming, since they will usually move on if they receive no response.

My panasonic KX-TG5000 phone headsets cannot make or recieve outgoing calls and the intercom function is gargly.

You need to reset the menu once again as it is possible that the phone had hung up as there was LINE PROBLEMS . Once this was reset the CLIP facility came back. So if you can once again remove power battery and keep aside to reset , then start all over to set up the base and slave units to MESH , the intercom and line facility must work.
You can remove the battery from the slave remote units to reset.

Not receiving incoming calls was talking to my

I used to have this exact model. More than likely, your battery has become "unrechargable". I used to buy replacement handset batteries from ebay every 6 or 7 months. After 3 years, I finally got rid of the phone and purchased a nice Panasonic (just cheaper these days!)

The replacement batteries usually sell for $3 or $4 on ebay. Here's a link of one that's one now: http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-V-TECH-IP8300-DECT-6-0-89-1326-Cordless-Pho-/330486596555?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf28943cb

Thank you and good luck!

One ring - noise like fax to caller, phantom call to receiver

Try unplugging all sets and call in. Do you still have a faxlike tone, like from an ALARM system or something else down the street?

Heavy Static on phones. Can't hear caller. No caller ID

Room monitoring mode is basically a type of Intercom.

Press the *TONE/exit button on the handset to exit room monitor mode.

I will provide you with link to the user manual of the phone. Have a check at it. Might be useful.

Vtech cordless phone appears to be mute

Try the "hard reboot". /1/ Unplug power from base station. /2/ Disconnect battery in each handset. /3/ Wait a few minutes. /4/ Reconnect battery. /5/ Re-plug-in power to base station. /6/ Place handset in base station, and wait a few minutes for it to recover.
You may have to reset time/date and/or the handset ##.
