I find that the dryer does not dry the clothes enough. The washer can take a lot of laundry at one time but the dryer is not able to handle the load. The stink usually comes from a bit of moisture left in the the clothes, especially the towels. Break down your dryer loads or dry them on a timed cycle for a longer time.
I talked to whirlpool and they said there is a new product out called Affresh. $7. 00 a pack it is 3 tablets you can get it at Home Depot or Lowe's. Supposedly if you clean the rubber gasket under side, put 1 or 2 tablets in the washer, run it on normal with hot water and continue to use tablets once a month it will stop the odor. I just started today so I can't confirm, but I am willing to try any thing at this point. Maybe it will work . If any one has tried this please let me know.
First off, you need to be using HE detergent. that HE detergent specifically designed ofr fornt loading machines.. adn very little of it, 2-3 tablespoons is a ll the manufactuer requires.. id bet you using regular deteregent( but not alot of it ), this is definalty your issue. you can also try to keep the door open between cycles to increaase air flow.

I did the same thing ( ran a cycle with bleach only) still smells
My towels always stink. I never had this problem before with my old GE Upright washer/dryer. I think it IS the washer. I only use HE Soap and not much of it.
I have always used HE detergient and very little and that doesn't make a difference! I have tried many solutions on various websites (including the manufacturer) bleach, Affresh tables, vinegar, peroxide NOTHING helps.
I have this problem also and tried everything it is like you say towles and jeans that seem to the worst love the washer but if they can't fix the smell problem what's the use of washing them.
I have heard that if you are using liquid HE detergent, it will start to smell. Something to do with animal fats in the liquid! The recommendation is that you use powdered HE detergent and that will help the smell go away! I also hear that you don't want to use any more than the small amount recommended in the users manual!
The problem is that the laundry smell weird and the towels dont smell freshÂ
I have the same problem with my Kenmore front loader; nothing smells clean, especially towells and jeans. They smell like dirty laundry when they come out of the dryer. I use HE detergent as recommended. I've run bleach and hot water once a week in the whites load, I've put vinegar with the darks, I've cleaned out the gasket and soap/softener dispenser (which was disgusting with mold and slimy gunk). My water does not smell, we do not smell when we take showers, but our laundry smells and it is not clean. I've noticed that stains do not come out of clothes and everything has spots. I want to throw my Kenmore front loading washer out on the street and getting an old fashioned top loading, water wasting washer so I can have clean laundry again!
