I have a lot of experience with this model...most of it not good. If you look in the forums on hp and anywhere else online, you'll see that this multifunction printer has mutiple problems as well.

Most fixes will be temporary at best. I've changed out every component on some of these, e.g. formatter board and main power board, and still could not get them to work consistently again if at all. The manufacturer can't either--they merely replace them until the warranty expires. Don't mean to bad-mouth hp, but these are the facts on this model.

However, if your warrnty is over, you may get at least a temporary fix by doing a "Restore Facory Settings"command.

1) Press the Setup button on the control panel.
2) Arrow down to Service, press OK.
3) Arrow over to Restore Defaults, press OK.

(Before you do this, realize you will have to re-set any stored fax numbers that are accessed by 1-touch keys). If that will last long enough for you to find another printer, I would certainly plan on it.

If you get suppy memory error than replace the Toner cartridge.
On toner cartridge there is a copper connecting chip, that particular chip communicates with the printer.
However the chip on ptinter (EPM) which communicate with cartridge chip if that is faulty than you need to get printer repaired.
However first replace the cartridge.
Chip on cartridge may be faulty.

To get confirmation page do this:
1. On the control panel, press Setup ( ).
2. Use the arrow buttons to select Reports, and then press OK.
3. Use the arrow buttons to select Fax Reports, and then press OK.
4. Use the arrow buttons to select Fax Confirmation, and then press OK.
5. Use the arrow buttons to select the option for when you want the fax error reports to be printed.
6. Press OK to save the selection.

To iclude first page with report:
1. On the control panel, press Setup ( ).
2. Use the arrow buttons to select Reports, and then press OK.
3. Use the arrow buttons to select Fax Reports, and then press OK.
4. Use the arrow buttons to select Include 1st page, and then press OK.
5. Use the arrow buttons to select On, and then press OK to confirm the selection.
