SOURCE: How do you remove the chuck from a dewalt dc720 if

The only way to get it off now is with a grinder and metal cutting wheel. Lock the drill body in a vice with the chuck out of the vice jaws. Wear safety goggles and do not stand or let anyone else stand in the plane of the cutting wheel while cutting, you will have lots of sparks and if the wheel breaks peices will stick into things. You have to make a judgement call but you want to cut just at the head of the stripped screw. It's a lot of steel to get there so be patient and work carefully to remove the tip of the chuck. Once the tip is cut off you may be able to grab what's left of the chuck with a vice grip or lock it in the vice and turn it off the drill. If not, you'll have to make a cut length wise in the chuck so you can split the base and remove it. Be careful not to go deep enough to cut into the anvil or back far enough to cut into the drill body and trans. After making the cut put a chisel in the cut and hit it, hard, until the chuck body splits.

Dewalt instruction manual

The black thing at the end is the "keyless chuck". Grasp it just behind the silvery tip of the chuck with one hand, and grasp the knurled ring just behind THAT area with the other hand. Twist the "front" hand counterclockwise while you twise the "rear" hand clockwise. That will loosen the chuck so you can change bits.

The bit in my Dewalt 6.3 Amp Dry Wall Screw gun will not pull out, how do I get it out to change it and how can I change from a Phillips to a nut driver tip.

The bits are held by a spring snap ring that sometimes takes a lot of force to release.

Spray a little bit of CRC226 into the bit/chuck interface and grab the bit with a set of visegrips and PULL !!!

The CRC226 is available in a blue spray can at Home Depot in the electrical dept and fights rust. A can is about $2.70... make sure to get the 226 as there are other CRC products there.

Hi, I have a dewalt dc925 drill. When running the

They all do that a bit. The sparks when starting up and stopping are normal. If it has been used alot brushes may be a good idea but before they need to be changed it will spark quite a bit.

It will not hurt to inspect the amount of brush material remaining.

How to change the drill bit for a Dewalt DW995

That tool comes standard with a keyless chuck so all you should have to do is grip the collar and turn it to loosen bit. If it is stuck you might try a rag of some sort on the collar and use the motor to loosen it up. Let me know if you need more help.

How to Remove Bit from Dewalt Quick Connect Adapter DW0521

Hold the chuck by its sleeve, put the drill in reverse (make sure it's set at high torque if you used it in a drill/driver) and go full speed. That should release the bit.
