Hi, Normally there should be an Icon at the system tray (lower right) which is for the WiFi. Placing your mouse over the icons would tell you what the icon is for. Right clicking on the WiFi icon would show you whether it is enable or disabled. Double clicking on it would give you the WiFi access window where you can select which WiFi network you can connect to. Some of these wireless internet cafe would grant free access while others would need you to check-in with their admin or somebody and on certain cafes for a fee. Hope this be of some help to you and pls post again how things turn up. Kind regards.

My laptop fall on the floor and now the wireless internet stop working

Right click on the Wifi icon at the bottom right and view available wireless networks. Are any networks showing up? If so, then your wifi is on. If not, then your wifi is off. If on, try reselecting your access point from the list.

If no:

Check to see if there is a switch someplace on your laptop that got switched off when it dropped.

If that doesn't work, try restarting.

If still nothing, either something broke or came lose when it dropped. If you feel confident, you can open up your laptop and carefully checking to see if anything is lose. If it is, press it into place.

I hope that helps.

How to connect the wifi to a acer aspire 5733z - 4851 laptop

Check the wireless router and high-speed modem. If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.

  • 2 Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer. Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu. Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.
  • 3 Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to. Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire. Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.
  • 4 Restart the computer. The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver. Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

I purchased an Asus EeePad Tablet. How can I connect to the Internet and google? The tablet has WiFi.

You need to connect to your wireless router that is connected to the Internet via a cable or DSL modem OR to a Internet cafe WiFi hot spot at a location such as McDonalds, Star Bucks.

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

I want to buy a wireless network adapter USB. I do not have internet home, but there is a public connection that is a couple hundred feet away from my house that is public because it is a cafe. Can anyone...

A couple of hundred feet away may be too far for a good signal receiption.
You can increase your signal with an aerial.
You may need to go into the cafe or park yourself nexr door to the cafe.
Use Google to see what is available on the Internet.
Here are a few WEB sites for you to look at.

Won't recognize home wifi, though it does recognize cafe wifi

Check the settings on your router, make sure it is transmitting 802.11b AND 802.11g. Perhaps your previous laptop is accepting the signal that is possibly 802.11g, but the older laptop is needing b. If that doesnt work, go back to the cafe, and see if you are still able to connect. If not, check the settings to make sure wireless is still enabled. Some laptops have a slider button on the front or side to enable/disable wifi, one of mine has it and sometimes i accidently turn it off. If it is indeed on, try disabling it, and re-inabling it.

Just bought the apple ibook g3 clamshell

If you can detect wireless connections in your area, then you have a wireless card in your Apple.
You cannot connect to the Internet unless you have a DSL or cable modem that connects to an Internet Service Provider.
You can connect to the Internet using a public access WiFi hot spot, these are located at McDonalds, Star Bucks and at the airport etc. and some Internet Cafe. There maybe some charges for these Internet connection.

Are you trying to access your laptop (which you leave at home) from another computer away from home?
    • If so, head over to www.logmein.com and sign up for a free account. It's a wonderfully easy way to get remote control of your machine from another location without worrying about the networking.
Are you trying to use your laptop on the road and still have Internet?
    • If so, you will need some method for your laptop to connect to the Internet. If your laptop has a wireless WiFi card you can go to some location that has wireless internet. Many locations (such as hotels, cafes, and coffee houses) have free or paid wireless Internet service.
    • You can also get a Wireless Aircard as your friend said. These are a fee-based service from cell companies such as Verizon or Sprint that give you a card that plugs into your laptop and uses the wireless cell network to give you Internet access.

    Dell Inspiron 5100 Internet Access

Do you have your computer connected to your wifi network and your ethernet cable at the same time? Try having it connected to only one and see if that changes anything (ie, keep the wireless on and unplug the cable, or keep the cable plugged in and disable the wireless - if your laptop does not have a button/switch to turn off the wireless, you can do so by going to your network connections area from the control panel, right clicking on the wireless internet icon, and selecting disable.)
