Dead i bought a tom tom one had it for 8 months the it would not stay on batery kept going dead sent it to factory they sent it back never work right when i put it on my pc to charge upit holds the charge for abuot 4 hours the goes dead the charger in the car does not charge it ???????

Remove negative cable from battery, connect a test light to negative terminal, opposite end off light to negative battery post. ( let sit for 3 to 5 minutes). Then start pulling fuses, when the light goes out that's your bad circuit. God-Bless! Its worth a try.

Nobis 9 tablets are defective. Many, if not most, of them end up having bad internal memory. They might work for a week, a month or maybe even two months but, sooner or later, theminternal memory goes bad. When this happens you get the stopped working error messages and in many cases it will no longer boot up. Just Google, Nobis NBO9 stuck on go and you will see you aren't the only one who got ripped off when you bought this POS.

I know, I have one. I sent it in when the internal memory went bad. Cost me 20 bucks postage. They fixed it and sent it back. It worked about two weeks and the internal memory went bad again. Then they gave me the runaround and refused to issue me an RMA.

Stay away from anything sold by Bidwell that uses the Nobis brand. Better yet stay away from Bidwell period. They are rip off artists, IMO.

My tomtom rider 2 will not charge on my bike and will not charge from mains electric, when i use my tomtom in the car it works.

You're asking about a Tom Tom, right?

Try hitting Reset.

1) Find the Reset button (in a hole on the bottom of the unit). Press and hold it using a paperclip or a dull pin.

2) Turn the unit back on. Does this solve the problem?

If not, try:

Reset Factory Settings. To do this, first Show All Menu Options (this is from the Preferences menu).

Then, again from the Preferences menu, tap Reset Factory Settings.

Have you made a backup of your Tom Tom? You do this from Tom Tom Home on your home computer.

If it will not stay charged then the battery is defective, these type of batteries have an average life of 2 years, less if they are run dead allot, more if they are left on the charger and kept fully charged between uses.

On the map display touch the screen once

Look for the spanner / wrench icon and touch that once.

Kepp using the Right arrow until you see RESET FACTORY SETTINGS

Touch YES.

That should make it as you bought it.

I had the same problem after downloading the latest maps, the unit was slow to boot up and would not find any satelites. I had no response from e-mails to Tom tom tech support and I was going to give up and buy a new device if this fix failed. I had tried paper clip resets and resetting to factory settings but they had not worked.

After reading the previous answer to this link I searched Tom tom support for 'clear flash' and the search results were more useful than the FAQ on the normal support pages.

I used Tom tom home to uninstall the current software application and then reinstalled the latest version (I had to go through several updates as my version of the software was from when I purchased the unit in 2007), I then downloaded and ran Clear flash and made sure that I disconnected the tom tom from my PC using the correct procedure (using the eject button in the bottom of the tom tom home screen as I read that this could have contributed to the problem in the first place).

After another reset the device came to life and after a few minutes searching for satelites outside the device worked as it should (try checking the configure GPS option if it is taking a while to find a signal, it could be just me but it seems to speed up the search process).

try to check if other battery is working when being charge,if the problem is in ur battery u have to return and ask for replacement fron the store where you purchased it.nobody can repair battery pack.tnx

Have TomTomgo 710 Can't download anything at all. Keeps coming up error time out. Cost £350 2years ago this month & this is the first time tried to download.NOT GOOD ENOUGH Have sent error report to Tom Tom!!!
