My computer has a black screen with a message''pxe boot file not found'' I've called the geek squad and they explain that sounds like my system is trying to boot from a network and not from the computer.

Hi there Hit F2 on boot up and go into the Bios settings, look for the boot order and change it to HDD as first boot device, hit F10 and save and exit. The PC will restart and should boot into the hard drive.

That means your computer trying to boot from LAN port. Go bios and change the settings of PXE boot to disable and make Hard disk as first boot device. Save the settings and restart your pc. It will work
If the sound you are referring to is a clicking sound, then it is a hard drive failure. Your
computer is trying to boot up the operating system from the hard drive,
but when it fails to access the hard drive, it tries to boot up from
other devices configured on the BIOS. Apparently, your next choice for
booting the operating system is set to the LAN card. Hence, you get the
message "PXE-E61 Media test failure", which means that the computer
tried to boot up the operating system over the network but it found out
that your network cable is not connected to your computer's network
interface card.
It goes to a network boot rather than booting straight to the HDD. restart your computer and press f2 immediatley. you are now on the BIOS page. check if your hard drive is detected and if not call Lenovo to have it replaced/repaired. if it is detected, after the PXE error, your computer should boot up just fine.
Hi:
These messages are usually associated with a computer trying to boot off a network. In your case, your computer is not able to boot off of the hard drive, or CD, so it is looking for anything to boot off of. This means that your hard drive has failed or the boot sector is corrupt. To fix it you either need to reload windows, and or possibly replace the hard drive too.
First, though, you should check the system date and time to make sure they are correct. A bad system CMOS battery could affect your booting process too.
you will have to check online for your BIOS setup it is trying to boot from something that is not there have to set BIOS from UEFI to normal.
Or
Install windows using thumb drive and win32disk to install windows to thumb drive then boot from thumb drive by pressing F12 or F11 for boot order
You have to change the boot settings in bios Follow this link and it will give you the keystrokes needed to enter bios and show how to change the order
First thing to do is stop booting up the computer. This message means the Hard Disk Drive (HDD or "C Drive") has errors. Errors can mean disk corruption including bad sectors and/or physically damaged hardware inside the disk drive. Since you are able to log into the computer, if even briefly, perhaps the HDD is what I like to call "fail-ING"; there may be hope of retrieving some of your data (pictures, etc). Ask your local Geek Squad Agent help you - if damage is severe, this is not necessarily something you can fix yourself (e.g. "fail-ED" HDD). Remember, I said not to keep booting the computer - the more times you boot a "fail-ING" drive the less likely you will retrieve anything. If you insist, however, on a DIY method - you could learn more about the following: 1. New HDD installed 2. HDD Enclosure (USB) 3. Acronis Software 4. A nice drink and a couple of hours to clone the old HDD
OR 1. Geek Squad Agent 2. Credit Card/Checkbook
HINT: if you talk to a Geek Squad Agent and s/he can't explain Acronis software, find an Agent who can...
You say it happens when you leave the system running for a while, one of two things comes into play screensaver or power saving settings, if you have a screen saver turn it if. Go into control panel, click on power options and set turn off monitor, hard drive and system standby all to never on mains and battery. I don't know what the problem is, but one of those may be causing it to happen.
