I got this for my daughter and she is already VERY discouraged. Every time there is inactivity for 90 seconds, it automatically shuts down. Therefore, deleting her videos. Does this mean that if I don't load it immediately onto the computer before either the auto shut down or powering it down, it will automatically delete her videos? HELP?!

What you guys need to do is empty the trash can on your mac before you eject the camera if you are deleting videos from your computer.

At least the following works on my first generation Flip Ultra camcorder (not Mino). Remove battery, put it back next morning. After that be careful not to touch "on" slider switch on the side of the camcorder while Flip logo is still on the screen. I mean turn the device on by using the slider switch and do not touch that switch again until Flip logo on the screen is gone. Doing the opposite (trying to use the "on" switch again while device is still "booting" and Flip logo is on the screen) will lead to the Flip Ultra freeze.

Deleting most likely puts thew files into the trash, just like in Windows. It does not actually free up space.
Try deleting the SD Card in your PC, should that fail, re-format and there you go.

You can recover the deleted videos provided that the data are not overwritten(if you continue using the camcorder, it might).
Deleting files(like videos or photos) from camcorder is just like clearing the recycle bin or Trash on your comptuter. The data itself isn't deleted, just the area containing the deleted data is also now marked as free space so it is available for any new data to be written there instead. The REAL data is still there. As a result a simple delete won't make your videos erased permanently.
Then you need opt for a third party data recovery software.
If you are running Windows, try this software(recover photos, VIDEOS and music)
For Apple Mac OS X, try this Mac data recovery software.
Install the program on your computer (choose the right version based on the operation system you are running), then connect your camcorder (memory card or HDD) to the computer and start to recover your deleted videos. I am sure you can operate the recovery on your own. Good luck.

You can often successfully recover deleted files from a PC, phone or camera memory card or USB Memory stick, it just depends on what's happened since the files were deleted.
When you delete files the data itself isn't deleted, just the index entry that says where the data for those files is located. The space containing the deleted files is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.
If and when that happens, then it becomes too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.
If the deleted files are on a memory card or USB memory stick, just don't save any new files to it.
One of the easiest ways to see if you can recover deleted files is to download file recovery software. Recommended asoftech data recovery as it saved my life many times. You can download it from
