this may or may not be the solution but its some sort of indication of what is going on. Ok when you plug the ac adapter do u get a flashing light to indicate your batter is being charged? If you do then there is power going through the laptop to the battery, which is great. Now if you don't have the indicator flashing then it could be that the where the AC adapter plugs to the laptop could be now faulty. The other one could be that the AC adapter plug i.e. head that goes into the laptop some how internally has a severed connection.

Hi,
To check if the problem is the power adaptor or the Vaio, just have a look at the charger itself and see if the green light on the adaptor itself is on?If yes, then more likely it is working fine. If no light, change the fuse in the plug and try again.
You can also try a static discharge on the Vaio. Please remove all external devices, unplug the adaptor and remove the battery. Put your finger on the power button and hold it for about 30 seconds. Then connect the power adaptor again and try to boot.

You might have a hardware failure here. Specially the part when you said you had the same result when removing the battery and just had the AC in. This machine has NO POST this mean Hardware failure specially the blinking light concerns me on the machine health as far as a tech. I would say bring it into the geek squad to confirm my theory it will not hurt for them to take a few secounds to confirm this if there is any warranties I cannot stress this enought use the warranty this is your secure ticket to a fix if its not warrantied I would seriously recommend having the motherboard evaluated it should at least beep but if you do not get a beep this is NO POST hard ware failure. These are know to have issues with the cpacitors on the mother board, you can try to replace the caps or just buy a new motherboard. I'm fixing one right now as I type...
