Where do I start computer upgrade

Your machine is very short of power required for win 10, I would like to see at least 8 GB ram, and a faster processor, yours is at the bottom of tests. Perhaps you should look at a new machine with win 10 installed. You cannot upgrade xp to win 10. You will have to purchase a win 10 license, you missed the free upgrade period.

I would like to improve the speed of my PC. Currently running Soyo KT333 dragon Ultra plus; AMD Athlon 2400+ 2.0GHz; 1.5 GB RAM. What can I upgrade to these days?

Hi.

The motherboard has an athlon xp socket, so you can upgrade your processor to an Athlon xp 2800+, that will give you a boost from 2.0 ghz to 2.250 ghz.

The motherboard can accept ddr333 type ram, to a max of 3 gb's of ram.

The ram increase will probably provide you with a better performance boost than the processor will, and it is most likely alot cheaper as well.

I hope this helps you out, and have a good day.

I can't install AUTOCAD 2009 in my windows XP computer. It asks to install direct 3D

Most probably your hardware ie graphic card do not support software requirements.

•Microsoft Windows XP SP2 operating system
•Intel® Pentium® 4 processor or AMD Athlon®, 2.2 GHz or greater

•1 GB RAM
•750 MB free hard disk space for installation
•1024x768 VGA with true color
•Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP1 or higher)
If you are using AutoCAD for 3D modeling, you should bump up your system as follows:

or
Intel or AMD Dual Core processor, 2.0 GHz or greater
•2 GB RAM or greater
•2 GB of additional free hard disk space

I have an Abit NF8 series motherboard and am using a amd 3200 --- I am wondering if I can but in a bigger processor as I am running 2.2 ghz and I need 2.6 for a game I would like to play. Is it...

You can put in bigger processor, Any AMD Athlon or Sempron will do.

If you are planning to run big games, then I suggest you get

- A new motherboard with PCI Express 2.0 support
- A new processor
- A new graphics card (maybe 512 MB or 1 GB) with DirectX 11 hardware support and Shader Model 5

You may make that DirectX 10 or 10.1 and Shader 4 if you want to reduce cost.

I have a hp pavilion7935,amd athlon 1.3 ghz,would like to upgrade

You have a wonderful machine and it should not be giving any problem. Are you currently facing any specific problem such that you need to maximize its performance. Well there is Hardware solution for that. You could try to tweak its performance by using the software-- Advanced System Optimizer 2.2 or 2.2 available for download(free) from uTorrent or Limewire....sodeep
