Hp L7680 mac osx 10.8 won't scan

I have a MacBook Pro. I updated my OS from 10.4 to 10.8. I read in a forum where I should delete original HP files and reinstall complete software and driver since I have jumped over a few OS versions. I downloaded the most current hp driver and software. I can print no problem, but I cannot scan. I am connected to the printer by USB. I have tried the three different ways to scan and the "scanner not available". I used to use an HP Device Manager for scanning prior to upgrading software and driver. I can scan to a mem stick and then shove in my laptop but that is a pain for sure. Help pls

I was able to get my 6110 to scan by downloading HP_Installer_PSC7100_v9.7beta.dmg .  I saw this on XLR8YourMac for another HP multi-function and on a lark I decided to try it.  During the installer it won't detect the 6110, but you are able to "Skip" to the next step until it's installed.  Then, launch "HP All-in-One Device Chooser" and you will see the 6110 listed.  After I choose it there, I was able to use "HP Scan Pro" with the 6110.  I've not really tested the rest of the applications.

Check all connections. I suspect a losely connected cable that generates greater interference when scanning...

Try to unplug and re-plug all connectors.

SOURCE: recently downloaded an driver update, printer stopped printing. using windows XP PRO OS. Lost the original disk software for the printer

You may have downloaded the incorrect driver. I would try using the driver directly from the manf. website. You can find the download here: DOWNLOAD

Can I load the driver/software for my canon MP210 printer onto my OS Macbook pro?

Yes you can but you'll need to install the Mac OsX driver to make it run through your Macbook Pro. You can download the Mac OSX driver from HERE,(open the link and select O.S i.e. Mac OSX and Language and click "submit", the download links will be displayed) it should also be included in the CD that came with the printer.

Let me know if you need further help.

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

MacBook Pro does not seem to recognize HP C4280 printer. I downloaded the installation, I find it in downloads on laptop but does not print.

It may be that the file has only been downloaded. When you click on your Download 'stack' on your Dock the last choice is 'Open in Finder' Click that and then find your hp driver download. Double click this and it should start the process. At this time follow the on screen steps.
If you need more detailed directions here is a link to the hp guide on setting up their printer in Mac OSX.

I cannot scan to my computer using my scanner

After loading the auto feeder, Scan Menu asks me to select computer. I press OK. The banner reads (my name)+ macbook pro. I press OK. Screen reads Tiff To Preview and then Press START SCAN to begin. I press OK. Screen reads date and time and Original loaded. I press START SCAN. Screen reads Starting Scan...., but reverts to Original loaded. I have also tried scanning using the computer (MAC). At times it will run one page of four and then a screen pops up reading..Unknown Error. The hp will print and is showing connected. Thanks

Are there drivers for using HP6110 Scanner with Apple OSX

you must have the software provided by HP to use the scanner (or another application designed for that purpose) go here http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_pagetype=s-002&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&cc=us&submit=Go+%BB&h_lang=en&h_cc=us&h_query=officejet+6110&x=0&y=0 select your printer from the list then select OS X and there should be a download link to the original software for Mac OS X and/or a replacement cd

Driver for 1020 hp for macintosh

try this,
  1. Download; http://www.railsguru.com/assets/2007/4/16/1601_LJ_1022_Series_OSX.dmg;
  2. If you have anything for the HP 1020 in ”/Library/Reciepts” delete it.
  3. Delete anything for the HP 1020 in Printer in “Printer Setup Utility”
  4. Install the downloaded printer drivers
  5. Remove all files from /Library/Printers/hp/laserjet. Leave the 1020 subfolder! You’ll need the contents in the next step;
  6. Move all files from the 1020 subfolder to /Library/Printers/hp/laserjet (the parent);
  7. Restart Mac OSX, just for luck;
  8. Add new printer in “Printer Setup Utility”, select HP LaserJet 1020, driver should come up, click ADD
