Acer Aspire 5735z Install XP

I have all of the drives onto my usb flash drive i just need help installing xp. i have windows xp professional,windows xp professional sp2, and windows xp media Center

Okay you might want to write this down make sure you have your product key #
put winxp
into cd drive then restart press F7 during restart then choose option start with cd or cd/dvd whichever you have
then press enter follow instructions YOU DO NOT want to press F6 for third party or raid let system go past that
then when asked to setup on the chosen space CLICK TO DELETE partition ( or unpartion ) then enter will ask to confirm
once all confirmed your installation will start
let me know how it goes MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS THE SYSTEM WILL GIVE

Format the flash drive without using the executable installation program on the flash drive.

Insert new flash drive, do not let anything auto-run. View the drive in the file explorer. Right click on the drive and choose Format in XP to let XP do a full format (not a quick format) of the drive. This will ensure that the drive works on XP... it will then also be accessible on a newer system.

XP may also not be able to work with flash drives over 32GB, or will only give you access to the first 16 or 32GB.

To install windows on a hard drive you have to boot from a CD with windows XP on, after which it will ask you to press a button.
After which you can follow the setup instructions in windows XP.

The problem is that I have just installed a new hard drive on an Acer Aspire 5135. Now, when I switch it on all I'm getting onscreen is OPERATING SYSTEM MISSING. All this when cd rom is set as boot...
Go into the BIOS and make sure that you have set the CD drive as the boot drive. If you are sure it is, then there is a problem with your install disc. If you have another or can borrow a friends try that. You can also creat an image of your install cd and copy that to a USB drive, the Aspire One can boot off of a USB drive and I have installed XP this way many times.

If the CD Drive is not working you can replace the drive or get an external USB CD drive and install XP from the external drive.

I bought a acer aspire 5542g with window 7 on it
You will have to boot of the XP install disk and reformat a FULL NTFS format, first, that will enable you to wipe the drive and install XP. To save an email, or any file to a flash drive, simply copy/paste or drag and drop onto the drive, the drive must be Formatted first, format FAT32. OR when asked for location to save, point it to the flash drive as normally done.

There's no single way to install Windows XP. As there is no CD / DVD drive, you have two main choices:

1. Purchase an external CD / DVD drive. Plug it into a USB port on the Aspire, and then access the BIOS, Make sure the CD drive is first, and insert your Windows XP disc. You should now be able to install it normally.

2. Use a bootable Flash drive. This method will be far more difficult, and requires a moderate amount of experience with computers. First you will need to install QEMU on another computer. Create a hard drive the same size or smaller than the one in the Acer. Install Windows XP to it using QEMU. Copy the hard drive image onto a USB Flash drive. Now install some version of Linux on it, such as Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux. Howtos are available in the Related Links section below. Boot from the Flash drive, and access a command line. Find your hard drive in the /dev folder (probably sda or hda). Now issue the following command

dd if=image.img of=/dev/hda

This will make an exact copy of the hard drive image to the hard drive in the Acer. Waituntil the command is completely done. Now turn off the computer and unplug the flash drive. When you power it back on, it should boot into Windows.

Install Xp on Acer Asprie 5735z
I'd reccomend backing up data and formatting your hard drive. Then install XP from disk and put data back on hard drive. You could use external hard drive or jumpdrive. It stands to reason that SATA works with XP, because the new computers I have seen have SATA and XP working conflict-free.
