I would like to be able to adjust the high flame on all the burners without hiring a repair man
Check youe installation manual, or downlowd one from the Amana website. Page 9, Low Flame Adjustment (for propane) or page 10, Reset the Valves for Natural Gas, explain how to adjust the flame height. It is easy, just be certain not to get carried away with how hard you crank on the screws: all hold small pieces in place or are for adjustment, not holding major structure together.
If you look closely, down the center of the knob ther should be an adjustment screw to lowert he flame
I'm unable to find a screwdriver small enough that also has a shank long enough to adjust this screw.
Can you direct me to a source? For our stove the shaft has got to be skinny for a least 1.5 inches, with a diameter no larger than about 0.075".

ummm, im sure lowes home improvement store. definatly at sears , they would have a skinny enough screw driver.
aborcass, thanks for the reply.
There's not a Lowes or Sears nearby, but I did try HomeDepot. They had long enough but too fat, or skinny enough but too short. I don't know if this Amana model is extra-deep, but I'm facing this silly problem. I guess I'll just grind down the sides of the small screwdriver that is long enough so that it can go in the hole. Wish me luck. Thanks again.
