RBS305 replaced thermal cutoff twice and again it won't come on bake or broil

Model #RBS305 single oven. Used the self cleaning feature and afterwards it would not come on bake or broil. So I had an eletricial fix it with the thermal cutoff. Then the oven worked. I again used the self cleaning feature and afterwards the bake or broil would not work. I had it repaired againj. Then again used the self cleaning feature and again it is not working on bake or broil. What is causing this to continously happen. does something else need to be replaced? thanks

Good Evening!
The self clean feature is causing your thermal fuses to fail or open. This is a safety mechanism that when open (bad) won't allow electricity to pass through any longer. The temperature in your oven exceeds what the components in your appliance can handle. If you want your oven to last it's longest, I would discontinue using that feature. If ever the control board or keypad on your oven by way of the self clean feature, we can help you with that. Fixyourboard.com can help. Send all inquiries to [email protected] . Thank you!

My oven wont heat up?

Hello there:
first chevck to see if the broil feature will work but if both the broil and bake feature does not work meaning it will not heat up if you have selected either the bake or broil follow these solutions that i have provided for you .
It won't bake or broil If neither the bake nor the broiler heating elements heat, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for man(ual)", push the knob in and try the baking and broiling elements again. If it still does not operate properly, you probably have a defect in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring. If the oven does not have a separate bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem may be with the thermostat. But it's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Whirlpool oven stopped working after self cleaning

If the display still works but neither the Bake or the Broil elements wont heat up, it's likely that the Thermal Cutoff has opened and has not reset itself. This is a common problem after self Cleaning.
The fix is to replace the Thermal cutoff which requres you to pull the oven and remove the back panel to get at the thermal cutoff.
What happens is that in Self Clean, both Broil and bake elements are used and the oven gets so hot that the middle skin (between the oven liner and the back panel, where the thermal cutoff is mounted gets so hot the thermal cutoff operates. It should reset itself but sometimes doesn't and then you have to replace it.

Whirlpool 27" wall oven. no heat after self clean

Self cleaning features are not recommended by most appliance technicians. The ovens are not constructed satisfactorily to expel the 1000 degree heat, Therefore the thermal fuses blow as well as other parts failures.
Remove the oven. Remove the rear panel. Replace the thermal fuse in the back of the oven. Use Easy Off next time.

Oven will not heat after self cleaning

We used the self cleaning feature on our RBS305 Built In Electric oven and afterwards it would not heat. replaced the Fuse-Thermal part Nr 9759243 (which is the new part number. (Shown as Nr 37 on the Parts list for the oven parts). Cut all Power to the oven off and it was very easy to pull oven out with help of my wife. Removed back, bought a new part for 49.55 plus tax. Put in new part, replaced back and oven works like new. I am a 73 year old senior so when I say it is fairly easy to replace you know it is. Hope this helps someone

SINGLE OVEN MODEL # RBS305PDQ16

Probably refering to a thermal fuse. This fuse opens when heat is too high. Some of these ovens had a kit where you replaced the cooling fan, fuse and shimmed hinges to correct problem. You can access fuse by removing oven from wall. It will be located on back of unit. You can try replacing just fuse. It will probably be ok for bake and broil. It may happen again during clean.
