Lightning yesterday
Power inside is on but does no cool; all ice melted by this morning. I pull out the refridge & very clean Unit. Compressor is still shining like new. System is 3+ years old.

Your fridge is fine it was in defrost mode during this an element heats up to melt any frost and ice in the freezer. But yes the hissing sound does sound alarming but is perfectly normal. hope you have a nice day
Check your thermostat control (it is the control that adjust the temperature), maybe it's sensor is malfunctioning that why it does'nt automtically defrosting
Evaporator is probably overiced as a result od door not being completly closed at some time recently, turn off and defrost overnight with the doors open, turn on the next day and it should work ok within 24hrs.
