Normally it is a Heat sensor attached to the Heater Coil housing.BUT just lately I've saw one of the Coils itself come apart and ground itself to the inside of the housing. It actually checked out good. BUT the housing had to be taken apart to see the problem.

u have a clogged vent,,, undo vent to dryer run a load if heats faster then replace dryer vent, and clean out ur ducting with a leaf blower blow that ducting lint outside.

Over heating in a dryer is almost always due to an air flow problem. Typically it is in the venting.
- Check the vent from the dryer to the wall by removing it and cleaning out, make sure there are no kinks or tears in it.
- Run the dryer once it is connected and feel outside to see if you are getting the same airflow outside as you can at the outlet of the dryer, if the air flow feels weaker outside your vent is restricted and you need to have it cleaned.
- If these are ok check your lint filter, softener residue can plug up the screen so air has trouble flowing trough it, you can wash it out with a brush and hot water
- With the lint screen out take a flashlight and look down the chute, if you see lint in there take a brush and vacuum and clean good
