so it has an OS
Android 4.4.4 (KitKat), upgradable to 5.1.1 (Lollipop)
and to use Android, this is best covered in Android support
who is your carrier Verizon?

If you have stored your contacts into sim then yes. But this is unlikely. Just play with contact settings to export all contact to vcf file (windows phone has to be able to do it) and then just email or mms this file to your new and great beloved android and open that vcf file and save your contacts to phone book. For future, store all your contacts on your gmail account. Then when you get other android, after you type in your email all contacts comes back automaticly. Good luck

Hard reset your cellphone. You do not say if the phone is Android. If it is Open Google Play and download Drippler , that is an Android only app, the answer to any problems with any Android device can be found there

Open up the "Market" on your android. When the market opens fully, you can select the spyglass icon to search for applications. In here, run a search for the kindle; by running this search, it will come up with all e-reader applications both for free and those you need to pay for.

Transfer pictures from phone to computer. FIFO spam for years on FIXYA.

I found an easy step by step to do this.

Connect the USB cable to the computer and the phone.
In the phone: When you attach the USB cable to the phone, a USB connection window appears, Select File transfer.
On the computer: Open My Computer and your phone will be visible as a removable disk.
Double-click the removable disk.
Here you will find specific folders (depending on your phone model) where your pictures are stored.
Drag and drop or copy and paste the picture from this folder to a folder on your computer.
Disconnect the phone from the USB cable.

The picture is now transferred to your computer.

& many others.....
