These door open or closed mixups are usually caused by the micro switches that are controlled mechanically inside by action of the latch when the door is closed/opened. There are usually 3 or 4 of those switches. Make sure the door protrusions are activating them. They can be replaced by generic ones of the same rating. I would replace them all! They cost less than $2 each. Order them online from a company like Mouser Elec or Digikey. You can test them for operation with the ohms function of a digital voltmeter. Be careful inside of a microwave. Deadly voltages even when off! Get some electrical help if you are unsure.
I just had this issue happen to me last week.. fortunately I was
standing in my kitchen when it happened... I heard a snap and then a
piece fall down the inside of either the door or the front key panel..
I'm assuming this controlled the door locking/oven turning on safety
mechanism. The inside light wont go off and it won't turn on to cook.. I
am trying to figure out if it's worth paying to fix or just replace the
whole unit!? Anyone know if this is fixable by oneself rather than
spend a bunch of money on a service technician??
its just the door switches playing up on you,,but is it worth getting it fixed? after all a new microwave onle costs from £50 up today,,
please dont try fixing it yourself unless you realy know what you are doing in there, there is 1000's of volts hiding in there even if its been switched off for days, and them volts will kill you,
have you ever seen a stun gun working???it realy hurts you,,,,,this microwave has the stun guns big brother inside of it,,and it wont stun you,,it will kill you,, is it realy worth that for a fuw bucks?
