My Kodak EasyShare DX4530 Camera and Dock 2 stopped working together. Don't know why the batteries won't charge. I feel like someone has just ripped part of my hand off. NO DIGITAL CAMERA!

Does anyone know why it would just stop charging? I keep my charger at my desk and whenever the camera is not in use, I have it in the charger. One day the charging light just stopped lighting up.

    Please help! Jeanne

There was an issue with the 4000 series and the NiCd batteries I remember that had to do with the contacts in the camera.  The charging circuit is in the camera so you have to make sure that the battery contacts are clean, both on the battery and in the camera.

Helpful to know that there is a problem but I cleaned the contacts and still doesn't work. Is it possible to get something that charges the NiCd battery outside the camera?

I have the same problem what I do is to carefully cuy the tape and plastic between the the batteries seperate one battery make sure one battery is still attached to the plastic seperator and one free now you can charge the batteries on a standard battery charger then whenyou put them back in the camera make sure the batteries are in the right order works great for me "make sure to keep the spacer attatched to one battery at all times" camera wont work with out it hope this helps you

Kodak dx7590 camera dock will not light up

Although you did not mention what Dock you are using, I assume it is the Camera Dock 6000. Is the Dock connected with the power supply? Because only connected to the PC with a USB cable will not be enough. Also the LiIon battery in the camera, should be charged at least once. If the battery is completely empty the dock will have trouble to. The dock can be used to charge your camera. Then the lights should indicate the state of the battery. And the Dock can be used to transfer pictures to the PC. But before that will work correct you have to install the software that came with the camera. (Easy Share software)

I got a dx4530 w/easyshare Dock II. from a friend of mine. He had been using AA batteries and it worked fine. I went to Best Buy and bought 2 Ni-MH batteries and put them in the camera. I then put the...

In the Kodak cameras of that vintage the original 3V rechargeable battery was made of 2 regular AA rechargeable batteries and a special piece of plastic that pushes some microswitch in the battery compartment. If this piece of plastic is missing, the dock would not charge the batteries. You either need the special CRV3 battery or to charge the normal AA rechargeables with a separate charger.

My Kodak Easy Share DX6490 will not turn on. When I place it on the charging dock, the lights flash like it is transferring photos to my computer and the flashing won't stop even if I remove the camera...

Hello, sounds like you have a faulty battery,if the battery is several years old it will lose the capacity to boot the camera and the dock is trying to charge a defective battery,if you get a new battery, charge it for at least 6 hours or more.Hope this solves your problem.

Kodak Easy Share Printer dock plus. Original

Hi,

you're not completely right. Kodak printer docks normally only charge the Kodak KAA2HR battery pack. It not charges normal Ni-MH rechargeable batteries of any brands.

Battery will not continue charge after a few seconds

Run the battery all the way down until completely dead and then try recharging. Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries don't develop a "memory" quite like the old nickel cadmium (Ni Cad) batteries, but this seems to work when my cell phone won't hold a charge for more than a day.

Rechargable Battery Problem on Kodak DX 4530

Inside the battery compartment, on the same side as the battery cover hinge, you will see a small white mechanism. As I understand it, this is a microswitch which recognises when rechargeable batterys are installed. I suspect this may have been damaged. If so, you will need a rock-steady hand and brilliant eyesight to repair it. Even dismantling the camera is a challenge.
