DWL-2100AP Bridge Works, but can't pass through firewall.

DWL-2100AP(2) set to WDS with complement MAC No. Any device can be pinged on the internal network from either side of bridge. Side of bridge with broadband modem, firewall, and router can reach internet. Computer on other side of bridge cannot exit to internet. I have tried entereing DNS IP's but that didn't help. I have no internal DNS server. Any idea what I have missed.

SOURCE: D-Link Router & Actiontec Modem

Hi,

connect the Dlink router to the modem ActionTech->( wan port )Dlink. Login to the Router web-interface and go to STATUS & check the WAN IP address which would be modem ip address. if there is an ip address, do ping test on your computer to that ip address and see you are getting successful ping results. If so, the ping yahoo.com and see there is an successful ping for yahoo.
- If there is No WAN IP in STATUS Page, Connect the computer directly to the modem and let me know the ip address you are getting. Can I know your ISP name please?

SOURCE: Static Ip with Speedstream 4200 Modem

I am assuming here with the way you have it set up your getting an internet connection.
what you saying i understsand mostly so i'll see if i can help you
first of all you have speedstreem modem that connects to you isp, this is assign your internet address from the isp if you paid for a static IP it would be in here, if not it's assiged by a dhcp from your isp company so if you if turn it off or have a power loss for anymore than 5-15min your ip changes.
now your modem then connects into your belkin router this as well as your modem it's prob set up as dhcp so it wants to issue each computer with an internal address of 192.168.0.X the reason for this is so it knows where to send the incomming information to what computer.
no matter what computer your using the address that goes over the internet will be the one assigned to modem from internet provider so if this need to be static IP to run your game server you will have contact your internet provider for an address.
but you may be confussing the issue a little, my suggestion to you would be:
1. go to your connections on each computer
2. right click on the lan connection choose properties
3. go to internet protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties
4. then click on obtain ip automatically and obtain dns automatically
this will remove the static windows address you may have put in.
try this and see if you can get you game or game server will work.
btw you may have to reboot your computers after this to get be sure to get the new address.

SOURCE: Wireless set up problem - no gateway ip or limited connectivity

Connect using Lan Cable
be sure to enable java on your Browser.
Use ONLY IE: some router refuse other browser.
SET your PC on a static IP address on SAME subnet as your router (but of course different IP).
If subnet concept is NOT clear to just just ask here.
When connected with router (on Lan Cable) check every setting (WPA-PSK) TKIP key, Broadcast / Channel etc.
You can also disable every WLAN protection and restore it later.
Activate WLAN connection WHEN you are STILL connected.
Last but not least: SET your DNS IP address = your gateway IP (router)

Not able to set password, i'e not able to ping http://192.168.0.50/

open the command prompt and type ipconfig, the default gateway is the address you need to log into in the browser. Keep in mind ICMP pings may be blocked by firewalls.

Hi, My d-link dl-604 suddenly stopped working. When I plug it in, only the power led and #4 lights are up. None of the other leds are responding nor the internet is not working as well. Please help. Thanks

The following reset procedure will completely restore the default settings on your D-Linkmag-glass_10x10.gif device including your password. This procedure applies to the DI-514, DI-524, DI-604, DI-614+, DI-624, DI-754, DI-764, DI-774, DI-784, DI-804V, DWL-700AP, DWL-800AP+, DWL-900AP+, DWL-1000AP+, DWL-2000AP, DWL-2100AP, DWL-6000AP, DWL-7000AP, and DWL-7100AP.

Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure.

The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is left blank.

Hope this helps! Give me thumbs please!

Solution #1
Set the DWL2000AP+ as "Bridge Mode" and the new AP (DWL2100) in "WDS Mode".
On each device set the MAC address of the other device.

D-link dwl-2100ap in WDS mode Received Deauth: WLAN 1 11G STA

I have had similar problems with DWL-2100 and (much less often) with DWL-3200. I have no solution, but a workaround: changing the authentication mode. For example, if the units are using WPA-Personal, I change it (on both) to WPA2-Personal or WPA-Auto-Personal. It doesn't seem to matter which mode is used, it's just the fact of changing it that helps (eventually). You may have to go through the process more than once. Also, realize that although the web interface comes up 30 seconds or so after a reboot, it may take another 30-60 seconds before a link is established, so don't give up too soon while trying these changes.

DWL-2100AP

To use the DWL-2100AP as an access point (repeater), You have to set it up on the repeater mode and type in the MAC address of the router. The best way to do this is to run the AP manager from the cd.

Try reseting the linksys! I am not super sure but I think that all of those devices are sucking the power out of the linksys. Again I am not 100% sure but try resetting!
