Tv has sound but no picture.

Tv is about two years old. It is connected to Dish network. It suddenly has lost the picture on Dish, but works with dvd player. It does have sound. I connected to another Dish system at another house and the problem remains the same. Any ideas?

If it works on DVD but not on your Dish, and when you connected it to another house it had the same problem then it sounds like your input connection is bad on the TV. That is if I am understanding this right. From what I am reading your Dish network is not showing a picture but the audio is working fine. The DVD player works fine on the TV though. Then you took the TV and hooked it to another dish system and it was the same problem. That sounds to me like you TV is having a problem, either that or the cables for your Dish network are bad. Try switching to a different input, like the one the DVD player is on and seeing if it works there. If not, then the cables are bad and you just need to replace the cables. If it does work though where the DVD was working before then your TV input is bad on that port you were hooked to before.

Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful. If you need some more clarification let me know, I hope this is helpful. Good luck and have a good weekend. Get it fixed before the Super Bowl.

I have a Funai 32" TV model 23PFL4764/F7A that has no sound. I'm on DISH network???

Check for a MUTE button on both the television and the Dish Remote.

Or Disconnect both the television and the Dish Decoder for 15 minutes to reset.

Today, while watching tv on the Dish, tv suddenly started powercycling. I unplugged it, waited, and then tried a DVD -- worked fine. Tried Dish again, power cycled again -- on off on off, 1/2 second of...

If you are using a powerstrip may not be supplying enough power to run the LG HDTV and your HD receiver. If you are using a powerstrip make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall. Otherwise this may be a grounding issue please reply if this doesn't work and we can look into some other possibilities.

What is wrong? The HDD and video pictures are pink/purple. The video reception is fine. Is there a not too expensive solution for our two year old machine?

Do you have a DVD player or game player connected to your TV? If so, do you get the same colors for the picture? If you do, then there may be a problem with your TV. If you don't get the same colors for your picture when you play a DVD or a game, then try to replace the cable between the receiver and your TV. I hope this helps.

I have surroundsound. I have dish network with hd dvr. I have a sony bravia hd tv. I have a dvd player, and cd player. I have a magnavox dvd recorder. I want to record from my dvr to my dvd recorder. ...

To get the functionality you're looking for you'll need to to take the cable running from your DVR output and connect it to the input on your DVD recorder. Next you want to connect a cable from your DVD recorder output and connect it to your TV. If this is an HD set up you want to use HD Cables for all of the connections.

Connecting protron dvd to dish TV

I hope you have at least 2 sets of RCA jacks for (1) the Dish receiver and (2) the DVD player. Run 2 sets of R/W/Y cables to the TV. Done. Or use S-video for a better picture instead of yellow.
If you only have one composite input on TV (possible) then either buy a 2-way or more switch for the composite signal (R=right sound W=left Y=composite or S-video instead of composite) or you can instead pass the signal through the DVD recorder on the RCAs but the DVD will be on whenever anything is on. I assume you do not have a Dish 111 with only RF output but the same could be done for just the wimpy RF, just different switch. So there will be 3 RCA cables from Dish to a recorder and 3 then to the TV. Since you do not have a recorder, then go back to the switch or find another TV input.
Ten years, hum, you may not have had composite/S-video inputs and would have to use RF only--you did not say what TV was.

Connecting DVD to cable only TV and Modulator box and Dish Networ

Without knowing the actual ports on each of these devices, all I can suggest is that have you tried connecting your DVD to the Dish box (thru VCR scart connection at the back of the Dish box) and then the Dish box into your modulator (and then modulator into your tv.

I have a similar system set up but we have a Sky Digital box here, no idea if its the same as a Dish box but im assuming so.
