JBL Radial Remote Doesn't Work

I just opened a brand new JBL Radial out of the box and set it up with my iPod Touch (2g). The remote worked fine on the first try. The next day the remote didn't work at all. The iPod works fine in the machine, I took the battery in to have it checked out and all is fine with the battery. Could I have inadvertently touched a button,a dial or a control on either the Radial or my iPod touch to make the remote disengage?

Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem with many small consumer electronics. The way that the devices are manufactured, there is an IR receiver that is soldered onto the PCB inside the unit. Sometimes this circuitry fails. There aren't any options on the Radial that would turn the option the remote off. Your best bet is that if the unit is still within the return period of the store you purchased it at, to return if. If it is outside of the return policy, I would give JBL consumer line a call to get the unit serviced, or get a replacement. Good Luck!

No picture on television when connecting s-video outlet from JBL radial and showing a film or pictures on a docked i-pod touch.

Hi, I have this problem and when I spoke to JBL techical support they told me that Apple have changed their software on the New Nano and the ipod touch and of course the iphone and regrettably the radial does not support S video for these products. I'm told it will work with first generation ipod classics. PS: i had to carefully cut off some of the plastic plug to make sure the connection goes all the way into the back of the radial

My jbl radial, when using a 120 gig ipod, will skip songs.

Not a solution but mine sometimes causes my ipod to skip mid-song to the next song or podcast as well. JBL customer service is usually good and I've been meaning to check with them since I finally figured out it's the radial and not my ipod.

Bose docking station problem. Remote will not work on either my ipod touch or I Phone. The volume buttons work on the remote but the skip and pause/play buttons do not. The Bose is brand new and straight...

If it is brand new. It is under warranty. Go back to the store where it was purchased and tell them the problem. They should replace it with another new one. Have them show you how to use it on all of the functions on your Bose Docking Station. Make sure you tell them about the ipod Touch and the iPhone.

Will not charge a ipod touch 2

If you're willing to spend $40, there's an adapter available from Scosche Accessories. It comes in both black and white and they say it will convert any docking device to the new charging format. (The problem is that Apple has discontinued charging via the FireWire pin - which virtually all accessories - even including Bose - have used up to now. All the 2nd Generation stuff now uses direct USB charging, not FireWire.

Check out the convertor at:

Compatability with 4th gen nano

I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.
