The sound Driver is not working. How or what can I do to see if the Driver is bad and how can I fix it? I just want to get it working instead of buying a sound card

Check your computer if the driver of your sound card is installed by play a music/mp3 in your windows media player if no error your sound driver is installed already...if there is a error installed first your sound driver...you can check also your speaker to another computer with installed sound driver, if this working...your computer have a problem with your sound driver..
You must install the correct sound card driver, or it will not work. Find the make and model of your sound card go to their website download the driver for your card and operating system and install this should fix the problem. If not your card may be bad...
It is either a bad video driver or a bad video card. Sound has nothing to do with your video. Since a computer has a "sound card" and a driver for the sound card. I would reinstall your video driver. If you have access to another you can install the card there to see if you still have the same problem after you do a re-install of the "video driver". This should fix your problem. :)
Intel 810E is actually a PIII so if you install XP on it you dont need to install sound driver separately because windows XP has it. When onboard sound device gone bad you need to install a sound card on your PCI slot. Hope this fix your problem.
You can try one thing:
1. Goto www.dell.com make a search for "driver downloads" then put your service tag no. This will list all the required drivers for your laptop. Just download driver for audio and install it.
It will fix your problem if you had tried bad drivers before.
2. If you can found your sound card manufacturer name, then go to their site and get appropriate driver for your sound card and try to install it.
