weak battery causes started to fail. and eat teeth , just like all cars do. the 7NHE has bendix drive starter, and those love to grand (like old 60 Dodges) so remove starter, clean the bendix spline and grease it so it is smooth. charge a good battery and Bendix be happy. if not already a wreck from above weak battery or not being serviced right.weak battery causes started to fail.

The Onan service manual is very good. 104 pages NHE is RV series, your Marquis is 7GBM or 7NHM Marquis , 1995? 10 seconds max on the starter, or it will overheat. and stresses the battery too. clean fuel and charged battery and a new spark plug does wonders. on any gas engine. The Onan service manual is very good. 104 pages

They are generally sealed, as it affects the mixture. You can take the carb off, put on the bench and remove the shut off solenoid at the bottom of the bowl, remove black cap on main jet, remove screw, and unscrew the bowl. To set back up you will need to ideally check on a load bank, for ability to pick up full step load,
First verify that the breaker for the outlets is not tripped and make sure that the generator is running at full operating speed. let it run for 5-10 minutes and check for output power. If there is nothing, there are two possible problems. One could be that the automatic voltage regulator is bad. The other is that the field needs to be flashed - a high possibility if the generator has not been run in a long time. There are many videos on the internet that show you how to solve both of these problems. Just do a search for No output from a portable power generator.
Either you have a kill wire ( if I remember it is the brown wire) that is disconnected on one end or the other Or your in coach switch is bad. Check the switch this way
Remove the switch from the dash/ mounting surface unplug the brown wire - start the genset - ground the brown wire - it should kill the motor If it kills the motor your switch is bad
