You need to find one with little babies near the base of the plant, and carefully remove it from the mother plant. Grow in water until it gets roots, then plant in soil. You can keep aloe leaves in the freezer for burns.

Hi Debbie:
I just googled it and it certainly appears to be.
Here is a link for you to check

Before I considered eating it, I would check with my family doctor.
Hope this helps.

Does applying flour help in the treatment of burns?

The best treatment for burns is Silvadene cream. It's expensive but the best by far. Baring that, use Aloe vera fresh from the plant, if possible.

If you put your hand in plain white flour after a burn, will that prevent burning and blistering?

No. no no and no. Flour will temporarily stop bleeding but should NEVER be used on a burn. Mild burns should be held under cold running water for a few seconds. carefully dried and sap from an aloe vera plant. Then covered to keep out air and germs. Blistered burns should always be covered with a clean cloth and medical dought . And never puncture a blister. It helps to keep the wound clean. Cover it ligtly and seek medical aid.o
