Do not recognize any cd/dvd in dell vostro 1510 bios A13

When i insert a cd/dvd it does not recognize it and pop a message that insert a disc in your G drive.I want to reformat my C drive(system drive)
but due to the cd/dvd rom problem I could not able to do it.

when i insert dvd ,my dvd rom sometimes can read dvd,i buy this notebook about 3 month ,and i tired about this problem,plz help me to solve it

windows vista keeps disabling the dvd drive in the registry, you can fix it in the reg but its a pain and it will happen again, anyone have any idea what the deal is???

doesnt play win xp cd \

and plays dvds only

but doesnot write anything

I have dell vostro 1510 labtop < bought from SA 2 y ago, dvd rom not work, always rejected when inserted, also bluetooth and toutch pad not recognized, i use windows 7

insert the cd into the cd rom, when dell logo appears start tapping F12 it will give you the option to boot directly from cd.
also you can try system recovery if you have recovery partition with ctrl+F11.

I have cd that won't eject. it is a "green" cd and is thinner that standard cd-roms. I have a Dell Vostro 1510 and am using Windows Vista premium.

There is usually a little hole in the dvd draw facia that you can push a thin object like a paper clip into. this manually opens the draw

Dvd will not eject from slot drive of dell vostro 1510

Restart your computer and enter set up bios. Try ejecting your dvd rom from there... it that doesn't work, get a pin and insert it in the pinhole on the dvdrom whuile pressing the eject button... that should do the trick!

Dvd laptop have problem, dont read cd and dvd model: dell vostro 1510

check whether you are able to boot fom operating system cd/dvd,
if you are able to boot fom OS cd/dvd, there is no hardware issue,
if unable to boot = Replace optical drive

then software troubleshooting
Install firmware upgrade for optical drive fom suppot.dell.com
reinstall Operating system.

Vostro 1510. CD/DVD-R doesn't show up in the BIOS or 'My Computer' Is this a bad drive or can it be fixed?

If it is a normal IDE type of CD/rom drive it may not show in your BIOS. It may just need to reinstall the driver once up in W**dows.

If You can play Other Dvds Very Good. Then Make Sure Your Dvd Have No Scratches. If So Then Wash it with Water. And Clear it with smooth cloath.
If Still U Facing Problem Then You can Check It In Another Computer.

Cant write raw dvd

Just install Nero 7.0 application and try to write the CD/DVD , It should work.
