Associate wireless router to my home hub

If your Home Hub is a BT type internet hub, then you can connect the WAN port to the Ethernet port on the Hub.

This means it will go through two routers. One in the Hub and another in the Edimax. The Edimax needs to be configured as a bridge, because you need to keep within the same address range as the BT router. The Edimax DHCP allocation of IP addresses need to be disabled. This is not on the web site.

How can i use utorrent?

Hi there, Follow the following instructions: 1) Go to uTorrent.com and click download the utorrent software 2) Install the program 3) Browse to a site that serves torrent files...or do a google search for .torrent files 4) then save the .torrent file to your hard drive 5) Run uTorrent and click "Add Torrent..." from the File menu. Select the .torrent file you saved in the previous step. The download file will appear in the main window. Once uTorrent has found peers that are serving the file, it will begin downloading the file to your computer
Hope that helps Cheers

Iv got a BT home hub 2 cant get conections for utorrent even though opened firewalls

There are ISPs that block utorrent. I found this explanation of how to do port forwarding on the BT home hub, though: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/BT/BTHomeHub/Utorrent.htm
So, all I can suggest is to open the ports on your home hub as suggested above and to connect your computer straight to your home hub rather than to your CWR-854 (unless you actually have no such router and just picked that to ask the question under).
It is possible that someone has decided that you should not use torrents (they slow down everyone because they actually have the nerve to use the internet) and they are associated with thieves. Not to mention that there are tons of legit uses for them,
This could be someone in your ISP or your house. So do you have access to everything? You can poke around with telnet - can you access the ports on the other systems that utorrent accesses to make itself part of the network of systems that are downloading and sharing the torrent?
But if one knows the ports it is easy to block torrent.
If you have multiple routers that do nat, the home hub has to forward to your router, not to your system. So if your router is 192.168.3.12 and your system is 192.168.5.6, the BT home hub has to forward to the port on your router, on 192.168.3.12 , and your router has to forward to your system on 192.168.5.6. If the home hub tries to forward directly to your system (if you have multiple routers, which you might have because of the way you asked your question) then it won't work since your router hides 192.168.5.6.

Setting ports

Hello, I went through this with utorrent when I first started and I had trouble with my router not opening the port. When I hook directly to the modem the port is open. But after much research I found that you don't have to have the port open, it just enables other to download from the items that you are seeding. Works just fine either way. Enjoy.

I hope that I have provided the correct information that will assist you in the resolution of this issue. If you have any questions, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Utorrent port not working

It doesn't need to be port forwarded unless it is not downloading. But if you must, check portforward.com for instructions specific to your router.

Forwarding from seimens 5830 how to get access

Hi,
You havent suggested what site you are wanting to forward one of your routers ports too, most people make this request for torrent download and/or gaming experience/improvement. Either way you need to know what port the software you are wanting to open a port for is currently using so you can tell your router which port to allow unchecked access.

I use this very informative support website for port resource info, click this link and choose your router type, in your case select Speedstream-5450 which will be the same setup as the 5830

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

That should take you to this page

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Siemens/Speedstream-5450/Speedstream-5450index.htm

Then select the software you are wanting to open the port for.IE: Utorrent or world of warcraft Etc... That will then open a detailed walkthrough on setting up rules for your routers port activity. You will need to follow the guide for each port you open, if the guide is not listed for the exact software you are using just read through the one supplied for Utorrent and change the port numbers to the ones you are using.
The software you are using should show you what port is in use at the time you are using it, some software may use a different port everytime you open the software or allow you to allocate a port permanently (which is not recommended safe internet practice especially if your ISP supplies your connection via a STATIC IP address, most use a DHCP allocated IP address)
Failing that you can find the port currently in use information using the command prompt- for winXP and Vista type c:/netstat-b for win2000 type c:/netstat-p Look for the software you are using it will be on the left hand side and look something like [Utorrent.exe] follow the line of info too the right and look for the 4-5 digit port number.

Wheeeew, Good Luck :0)
