Sharp 7900 black copies and low developer

First the copier started making more and more totally black copies, and the low devloper warning light was on. Toner had spilled inside the copier. I cleaned and vacuumed all of the excess toner.

Is developer and toner the same thing? There are separate warning lights for each. I have puechased a new toner cartirdge and a bag of developer. I know how to install the toner cartridge. What do I do with the developer?

    sf-7900 right?
    totally black or just very dark?
    totally black should be a bad copy lamp/temp fuse problem.
    does it light up when you copy?

    ..?.. why did you buy the dev. material? Did some one tell you to replace? You will have to take out dev. unit, take apart, clean and vac. dev. unit, install new dev. matr., install dev. unit into machine and then intil. the dev.unit/ material. IS this something you can do?

    If toner or dev. material in spilling into machine you may have to replace seals and/or bushings as well.

I own a sharp SF-7900. My pages are coming out black

I'm sure you may find a manual, but your copier is rather old.... When you make a copy do you get a error code? How about when you make a copy, do you see the scanning lamp turn ON? Here is you thing you can try, make sure the Primary Corona unit is pushed in all the way in. It has a grey handel on it and it should be found right above the Drum... Good Luck

The copies comes out totally black

H2 00 Thermistor open, your fusing unit needs to be serviced (cleaned or replaced)

The black copiers can be a number of things a few things to check and what the remedy could be;
  1. Open the right door, if you notice a lot of toner/developer spilt then you could be having a charge corona short (built onto the drum unit) clean corona
  2. Open the right door, if you drum (green or blue cylinder (depending on brand of drum) under your fuser) is coated with toner (should be all green/blue) then you could be having a drum short, replace drum unit for this.
  3. Open the right door and on the door towards the bottom is a metal unit with a white guide built on it (transfer corona) if there is a lot of toner/developer in it (looks dirty) then this needs to be cleaned or re-built.
  4. You also could be having a board issue causing the black copies.

Sharp ar-m237 copier

Direct light can effect the copies. Your unit may also need developer as well. If the developer is low or gone out of the unit, light copies will appear as well.
