The repairman for our vendor figured out, as he was about to replace some mechanisms so our Boss B9431 chairs would tilt, that they were not broken! While flipping down the paddle on the left can lock the chair in a particular angle, once you've tilted it, it will not tilt IF the height adjustment lever on the right is PUSHED IN towards the chair, locking out the capability of tilting. You have to gently pull the height lever away from the chair, sliding 0.5 or 0.7 inches, to activate the tilt ability. This may be the case with other models, or may not.

We purchased a Serta Hensley Smart Layers Executive Big and Tall chair about a year ago and it isn't raising up or down. It tilts but sits to low to the ground and want raise up. How do I fix this???

the up/down is a gas strut and is replaceable
cost is from $45.00 to $100.00 aud and comes in 2 lengths
the fitting is a taper at each end and it requires a solid hit to remove the base and seat from the gas strut
gas struts are available from good office furniture shop /retailers

How do you correct or replace the Apex 2000 Storz exam chair that will not hold in position when tilted back?

This should be visually diagnosed to get an accurate identification of the issue. That said, I would look to the tilt motor having broken teeth on the sprocket or a broken drive gear. Also the drive chain may be loose enough to allow it to slip on the sprocket. In most cases, the issue is with the tilt motor mechanism. Removing it will determine if an adjustment is all that you need or if it needs replacement.

What is a padded beach chair?

A padded beach chair is a high quality beach chair that's cushioned with foam to increase comfort. This type of chair is very beneficial if you're planning to sit around for a few hours because it will prevent unnecessary back pain that could be caused from long sitting hours on regular beach chairs.

Graco highchair tray

Although the Graco high chair comes with a tray that you can tilt position wise, it shouldn't be tilting forwards.
Use the instruction manual and make sure that you have clipped it in properly.
If it's still tilting forwards then take it back to the place where you bought it to have it checked before you put a child in it, just in case it's faulty.

Today I turned my wheel chair on and it would not go forward or back. The indicator on the control panel shows I have a full charge. This has never happened before. I did some checking, when I put the...

I am making some assumptions based on your description of the problem:
1: You have a Jazzy 1113 with tilt.
2. You have batteries that are fully charged as indicated by the battery display
3. Your chair is not in freewheel, that is the brakes are engaged with the levers in the correct position.
4. The motors are not turning.
5.You do not state the type of tilt system but I am assuming it is either true balance tilt by Pride or Motion Concepts tilt.
6.You have no flash error code on the battery display.
7. You do have a flash error on the joystick.

My initial response based on these assumptions is that your chair is in drive lock out and the electronics are inhibited because of the following reasons:
You have a bad switch that indicates to the electronics that the chair is in tilt or more than 20 degrees of tilt. You have a bad inhibit harness. You have a bad end of travel switch on the actuator. The list is long depending on the system.
Check all the wiring and switches associated with the tilt system for broken/disconnected wiring.
Get back to me with exact specs of the system including type of tilt system and the serial number of the chair so I can research the configuration and give you exact and not general answers. I hope we are off to a good start.

Compass 'tilt in space' chair does not tilt

The TRO is a new tilt-system offered by Golden so I am not familiar with any glitches it may have, but I would first check to make sure that the connections from the toggle leading back to the tilt-box in back are all well-connected. Unplug, and replug all connections as far back as the power supply for the tilt system, which goes back into the base of the chair to the controller. It's important to completely unplug and replug and not check them visually, as a loose connection cannot always be confirmed by sight alone. Also, check the fuse to the tilt feature. I am not sure if this one has a separate circuit breaker for the tilt option, but if it does, check that as well. The toggle protrudes out from the front and is subject to impact damage. A lot of folks try to get 26 inch wide chairs through 25 inch wide doorways, as I am sure you've found out. If you've rammed the toggle into a door frame, table or other fixed object, it may be the switch. Checking its operation with a voltohmeter is the likely approach to insure that the toggle is not damaged and is doing its on/off duties. The fact that you aren't getting a power available light seems to make the toggle not the culprit, but it's worth a shot.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
