Dear Stoneway,

First create a network profile if not yet done so

Menu > Profile > Network Profile

then edit it, go to Account Choice and select "Default".

The "No SIP Account" error most likely comes from having a blank field in "Account Choice".

It's easier to set up the DPH-540 from the web admin interface, so you can try first to at least get an IP address assigned to the phone then use that IP address to access the phone from another laptop on that same wireless network. But again by the time you manage to thumb your way to get an IP address assigned, you have 3/4 of the problem already resolved so you may as well thumb in that finishing touch :-)

No special firewall rules needed for DPH-540 and Dlink DI-604 router

My DPH-540 works fine behind a DI-604 NAT router, without any special firewall configuration on the DI-604 (I connect to either RingCentral or SIPPhone). I hope to get another SIP phone and see if both phones can work simultaneously behind the NAT router; many web sites suggest that a different proxy port must be used (the default is 5060).

Need a manual for Samsung 4G so I can hott spot my laptop

no you don't need a manual its easy
Go to your normal home screen on the phone . Ie unlock the screen.
At the top of the screen you will see small white symbols .
put finger on them and pull/ drag finger down to see hidden menu
You will now see wi fi , location, sound, screen rotation, bluetooth
put finger on right hand side of these options and drag finger left
the forth option shown should be mobile hot spot
press on mobile hot spot with your finger
Attention
Enabling mobile hotspot will turn off wi fi
Cancel or OK
Click on OK ( you use wi fi to link the mobile data to the laptops , ect)
on your laptop you will see androidap as a wi fi network connect laptop to this !
network key come up
what is the password
go into the phones settings
look for Tethering and Mobile Hot spot
click on this
click on Mobile Hot spot
step 3 in list of instructions that have now come up will be the AndroidAP password you will need on the laptop , ect

Put password listed into laptop wi fi connection password question.

PS put mobile on usb power or usb charger while hotspotting !

Can I get Wi-Fi hot-spot on my mobile and charge it on my account on next payment

You need to check the manual for your phone to see if it will work as a hot spot. You didn't say what the make and model is so I cannot help you with this, so check the manual. You will also need to have a data plan on your phone, not just a call plan.

Can I hot spot this phone to a wi fi

Hi Shelagh, If you're trying to connect to your home Wi-Fi The password is on the back of the modem, Write it down then go into your phone/tablet settings and tap "CONNECTIONS", Then tap on Wi-Fi and make sure it's switched on(should be a button there), Once switched on it should start scanning automatically for networks, but if not then there's a scan button there somewhere. When it finds the modem just tap on it and a small window opens for the password, Type in the pass word tap ok and you're connected... Bellow is a link to a short youtube video explaining pretty much the same thing I said..... I hope this helps..., CHEERS..

Why can't I connect to wifi anywhere?

there are two systems.
Mobile data and private Wi Fi networks.

Some Wi Fi networks with limited range are available at Wi Fi hot spots but you need to know the password to connect.

In my country Australia Telstra is going to offer Wi FI hot spots for its home users broadband customers and will then bill the usage to their home account. https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/telstra-air

this is a new network concept in its infancy

Using D-Link DPH-50U with a softphone ie. Xlite,eyeBeam, etc

That phone looks exactly like the one I use from sjlabs.com. I have a SIP account with FWD on mine. The router should have nothing to do with it unless you are behind a corporate router with strict ACLs. The soft phone is software based. Just make sure your STUN server and SIP proxy is set up correctly. The Xlite should provide all the info needed,
