Have they always gas short talk time? If they are AA batteries you can replace with rechargeable NiMH with as high milliamp hours as you can get 2400+ these have much more staying power. They should charge ok but sometimes these can upset the charge unit.

SOURCE: 2 uniden cordless phones aren't working

I don't know if this helps, but perhaps the problem is using two or more phones. On a whim, I charged a Uniden EXP 970 that my daughter gave me a few years ago. Charged right up and it has been working for about two days. I didn't think it would charge at all but to have it actually work, I was amazed!! Will post if it quits anytime soon.

FYI I bought two phones from AT&T, each around $200 and neither of them worked after a week. I was not happy! These less expensive phones seem to do a much better job!

SOURCE: Uniden 5.8 GHz Digital cordless w 3 handsets interference background noise no matter where we are in the house or which handset we use

This is possibly caused by the internet connection.
Try new ADSL filter.
You need one each per device.

SOURCE: uniden 5.8 ghz phone. Can you turn the ringers off and how ?

On most of the phones you just keep pushing the volume down button untill it turns off. On some models there is a "Do not disturb" feature, usually it is a soft key feature so look on the LCD screen. Also, for the person that can't turn the ringer back on, just push the volume up key untill the ringer is at the level you like.

Date and time changes if left for short time

Only date & time are changed? Are they reset to year of 19XX?
If it is, that problem usually is caused by low Bios battery.
You should replace it.

I have a Uniden Integri sound Power Mac 5.8 ghz. One of the three phones does not register the caller ID. How can this feature be restored?

We have a similar problem with one of our handsets- except that in addition to the caller id, none of the other functions work. We've also noticed that we can get only about 10 mins of talk time on that particular handset before the battery goes dead. The manual says that if the battery is weak, none of the other functions on the phone will work (in order to conserve battery life). This seems to be our problem.

Handset out of range

Hello Dmark,

2.4 Ghz is a fairly common household frequency...
Conflict with other systems COULD ALSO
be your problem...

ASSUMING you have had this system
same place, same usage... and have added
NOTHING in your house
(like wireless Cameras, DOT, ECHO, ALEXA, etc.).

There comes a point in the owners of a
DCT758-4 Uniden system's life...
When it is time to check the base battery contacts...
BATTERY charge indicator... and general system
performance;... (battery indicator).

Only the MAIN base is the RADIO BASE...
Depending on battery condition...

You might want to TRY moving your weaker
hand sets around to more appropriate locations...

Failing that...
YOUR BATTERIES ...
(I have shown below) are widely available
from places like eBay and AMAZON...
I am showing AMAZON for informational purposes.

FREE SHIPPING figures PROMINENTLY in my
BATTERY BUYING... So I use TRUSTED SELLERS
on eBay...
(USA: $3 - $5 each (Battery cost for your phone) .

Happy hunting...

Can't talk on both phone at same time. second on is always dead.

The DXI4286-2 is an Analog phone, it does not allow for both handset to be used at the same time. You can transfer a call from one handset to another, but cannot talk on both at the same time.
The following is from the user's manual for your phone:

Unavailable message is displayed
on the LCD screen of the
handset.
• Make sure the other handset is not already in use. Both handsets cannot be in talk mode at the
same time.
• Place the handset in the main base for at least 5 seconds to re-register to the main base.
• Make sure the handset is not too far from the main base when trying to use.

You might want to try one of the DECT or a Digital 2.4 or 5.8 GHz phones, they allow you to use multiple handsets at the same time.

Phone won't hang up

I solved this exactly problem by doing this:
1) unplug base station from phone line
2) unplug base station from power cube
3) open each phone and disconnect battery (do not replace phone in charger; just let it sit)
4) wait 30 minutes (per instructions from Uniden)
5) reconnect batteries in phone sets
6) reconnect power cube to base station
7) reconnect base station to phone line
8) test: make a call. Hang up. Wait one minute. Pick up line and see if you get a dial tone.
(Basically you're "rebooting" the system. You don't know where the fault lies, so you power down every component to make sure you get it. The '30 minutes' is longer than I'm used to, but after being on hold with Uniden tech support for 20 minutes and finally getting through, the instructions from them were very clear: AT LEAST 30 minutes. OK! I did it - and it worked!)
