It probably needs a memory card-did you make sure there was one in there because most digital cameras need a memory card

I bought a used Vivitar vivicam 8025 camer off ebay, it didnt come with software, the owner told me i could download it.. is that true? and if so where?

You can get manuals, software (Vivitar Experience) and info from THIS LINK You will need to select "digital cameras" in the first box and your model in the second.

You don't really need software to get the pics onto your computer. There are two ways to do it: connect with a USB lead or take the memory card out of the camera and read it with a card reader attached to the computer.

Using a USB lead, you shouldn't need a driver or other software. The computer can recognise the camera memory as a removable drive without actually recognising the camera as a camera. Try looking in "My Computer" for an extra drive (Under "Devices with Removable Storage") and opening that. There should be directories with picture files in them that you can drag to your desktop.

Many people find it more convenient to just take the memory card out of the camera and put it in a card reader, especially now that these readers are built into computers and printers. The card then appears in "My Computer" as a removable drive and you can just drag and drop the pictures onto your laptop. You can't get the pics from the camera's internal memory that way though.

How do you download the pictures to your computer? If i have a Vivitar Vivicam 25

Unfortunately, the program that came with your camera is called the "Vivitar Experience Image Manager", and that program does not allow download to your computer - at least not directly. It's frustrating to have a storage application that will not allow transfer to your image folder on your computer. The only way I have found to save the images to the computer is to e-mail them to myself using the Vivitar Experience Image Manager e-mail feature (Hotmail or Gmail) or to post them to Facebook or other sharing website and download them from that site onto your hard-drive. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I JUST GOT THE VIVICAM 8018 AND I WANT TO DOWNLOAD MY PICS BUT I DONT HAVE A CD ROM ON MY NETBOOK COMPUTER .IS THERE ANY WAY I STILL CAN DOWNLOAD MY PICS WITHOUT IT???????

Yes. Your netbook probably has an SD slot. Simply take the memory card out of the camera and insert it into the slot. Windows will recognize the card as a disk. Open an Explorer window and drag&drop the pictures from the card onto the netbook. I'll assume you know how to create folders and such, so I won't go into details on that process.
