MY BROTHER THREW A WII REMOTE AT OUR LCD TV WHILE BOWLING AND CRACKED THE SCREEN. CAN THIS BE REPLACE/REPAIREDD? IF SO, HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST US? ALSO, DO YOU KNOW OR HAVE YOU HEARD IF THE PANEL REPLACEMENT PRICES WILL GO DOWN ANY TIME SOON. WE WOULD LIKE TO REPAIR IT BUT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RIGHT NOW DUE TO THE COST.

We have 42 inch Vizio LCD's in refurbished condition at the repair shop. The glass LCD's are around $230.00 for 42 inches. This is only for the glass panel and doesn't include the CCFL assembly which you probably don't need as its just the glass that's cracked.
Have a professional service technician install it as the LCD is very thin and extremely fragile and can easily crack under it own weight if handled wrong. Plus there are ribbon cables that require skill to attach and detach successfully on the control driver board.
We have all parts for Vizio, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Panasonic, Philips, Akai, Sony, Maxent, Proscan, LCD and Plasma tv's.

You can get cheap replacement screens at this site www.shopjimmy.com all you need to give them is your model number and the panel number thats on the back of the screen itself on a white sticker. I found a screen there and it worked out great!!
Had someone come to me with the same thing asking about the
the cost to replace the LCD screen. This was for a 46 inch JVC (3 months old).
The cost of the screen...$2600 plus a $500 core charge, plus a minimum of $45
to ship it. Keep in mind the guy paid $900 for the whole set new.
If you decide to get another set you might consider getting one that is the same model
as the one you already have and save the other set for parts.

Only thing u could do is trade in that all can do,nobody out there will have the LCD screen to sell to repair for u,beacause the tv Compannies well not sell LCD screen out as part,only as a new tv.Trade it in get 10% off on the new one that all could do.
I have a Vizio GV42L 42in. LCD..... so the TV froze up and has color lines going up and down. Now is there a part that I can change myself?
The lcd panel costs more than the tv set is worth. it's like trying to rebuild a car after an accident. that's why the insurance company will say it's totaled. you're better off and it's cheaper to buy a new tv. use the straps when you play wii !!

THAT REALY DIDNT ANSWER MY QUESTION ABOUT WHERE TO BUY A REPLACEMENT PANEL. THE TV IS ONLY FIVE MONTHS OLD AND NOT COMPLETELY PAID FOR YET.
