Static sound or no sound with FM Trans and with Audio Plug

I've been using my MiFi XM2go for year without a problem. In the past week or so I've been getting just static or no sound at all with an occasional glimpse at the station on the XM. The bars on the screen show its got the signal and the information about the song/show is right there, so I know the signal is coming in. I was told by XM that I should get the Sure Connect or an XM FM Modulator Relay, but wouldn't this only be a problem with the FM Transmition. I've used the plug for the tape deck and have the same problem. I know its only $20, but I'd rather put that towards a new unit if I know this wont fix the problem.

I agree with you. It sounds like an internal audio circuit problem, especially if the tape adapter does the same thing. Have you tries headphones on the unit? If they work, then get the sure connect as it plugs into the headphone jack (Aux out jack)

By the way, you as an XM customer for years, usually XM will just give you another unit to keep you as a customer. I've seen it many times. Couldn't hurt to ask!

My tao xm2go unit is transmitting a very weak fm signal to my car radio. I can barely hear the audio.

You likely need to directly connect. In most cases the FM transmitter is too week to broadcast through FM stations, and a direct connection will clear up your issue. It could be as simple as connecting via an Auxiliary cable or Cassette Adapter. If you don't have the ability to use one of those, you can get an Auxiliary Input Adapter. Another solution would be an external FM Transmitter, with a larger range.

My Delphi XM2GO MyFi has stopped transmitting to an FM station on a house radio. Is it repairable? If so, is there a facility in the Cleveland, OH area where I can take it?

IF you take it out of the home dock and run it on batteries, I'll bet you it works again. The newer home docks TURN OFF the FM transmitter. Try a car dock, or try it with just the power plug plugged into the bottom of the MyFi, without the home dock and see if you can now get the FM transmitter to work. Let me know. Thanks and good luck.

Some stations have static

Are you using the FM modulator? Try using a different FM frequency, or use the 'audio out' jack and a cassette adapter. If you plug headphones into the unit, do you still have static?

My mifi XM2go radio will not turn on. I have

Sounds like a bad battery. Try plugging DC adapter directly into the bottom of the unit and turn it on - does it still act-up? If so, bad radio; if it works with adapter only, then battery and charging issue.

Cd works and has sound but no audio when in Fm or Am mode

If it's just static, it's probably a bad antenna. If there's nothing it may be a bad tuner. If you visit a car audio shop and slide the deck out for them without disconnecting it, they can plug in a test antenna to verify your problem. Hope this helps

Playing video audio through car stereo Toyota Matrix

You're probably gonna need a wired FM modulator. That part will take an audio output and run it into your antenna plug on your radio. It will use a FM channel, but it's wired directly to your stereo. So no static as found with wireless FM transmitters.
