Clifford g5 alarm how do i reset it after i was checking fuses it wont let me start the car

The car won't start because the Clifford alarm has a starter interrupt wire where the start wire runs through the alarm system module/relay. The unit then must still be active for the car not to start. If pressing the disarm/unlock button on your Clifford key FOB does not turn the system off, you will after to do it manually. You will need to locate the manual override button installed somewhere in the car that is connected to the alarm system. Turn the ignition switch to "on" or "run" and within 10 seconds press the manual override switch. That will turn the alarm system off and allow the car to be driven normally. I would then take the vehicle to an authorized Clifford or other DEI (Viper) install shop and have them diagnose your apparent problem.

Valet switch location

The valet switch is usually located around the drivers side. Each installation is different, as are most alarms. The valet switch could be part of the flashing LED or, it could be incorporated into the on glass antenna. If not, it should be located below the driver side dash. If you can see the alarm, locate the blue two pin plug and trace the wire to the push button valet. If the unit is manufactured by Directed (Viper, Python, Avital, Clifford, Valet, Automate, Hornet, etc.) turn ignition on then off, press and release valet within 10 seconds, LED will illuminate solid to show system is in valet. If the unit is manufactured by Audiovox (Prestige, Pursuit, Code (new)) turn ignition on, press and hold valet switch for approx. five seconds, release, LED will illuminated solid to show system is in valet.
If you are attemting to manually override the system, turn ignition on, press and release valet switch to disarm.

How to disable or reset a Prestige car alarm. Purchased a used car with an after market Prestige alarm installed. Alarm somehow tripped and shut off the ability to start the car. I can't find a valet...

The valet switch,on the newer Prestige alarms, is a push button LED or, it's incorporated into the antenna. In both cases, turn the key to the on position, then press and release the valet switch. The alarm will respond with two chirps confirming that it is disarmed. You may now start the vehicle. After you successfully disarmed the alarm, turn the key to on position, press and hold the valet switch for approximately 5 seconds, the LED will come on solid. Turn the key off.The alarm is now in valet. You can take it out of valet in the same manner.

My car will not start.... there is power but car will not turn over....the ignition......? HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its a clifford alarm

Your solution may be difficult. How old is the Clifford? Is there a small rocker switch with a star (*) on one side? If there is, then it is a coded valet switch and you will need to have the unit reset unless you know/remember the "code". Also what kind of car?

Disable viper alarm

Yes the best way is disarm the alarm and put in a Valet Mode
To activate the Valet Mode do the following:

There is a push button or toggle switch to disable the alarm (to engage the valet mode). Without knowing where this
switch is you won't be able to disconnect the alarm.

1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.
2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 5 seconds.
3. The LED. light will stay solid on.
4. Turn the ignition off
5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone in step 2

Battery went dead, clifford alarm locked the engine

Assuming that all is well with the vehicle's electrical system (fuses, etc...), the following should work, as Viper/Clifford uses the "fail safe" method of starter disable, and it only works to lock out the starter when the alarm is functioning properly and in the armed state.

That system has a "starter kill" system. When the alarm is actived, the starter kill is engages, and won't let the starter get voltage from the ignition switch. First thing I'd try is connecting the car's battery while the ignition key is turned to the "on/run" position. Cycle the alarm to arm, then disarm, so that the LED is not blinking. It also may require using the manual override button/switch (with the key on) to reset the alarm. Should start after that.

If all else fails, reconnecting the starter wires back together (they are spliced and running through the alarm via a SPDT relay.

I lost the alarm key my car a wile back and this morning i had some trouble with the battery, and now the alarm is on!! I can't turn it off with out the key right now, i'd like to know the alternative...

the alarm sensed that the battery is low and turned on .thats how they operate it thinks its being stolen, try to take the connection off the battery wait for a minute and connect.if not look for a small toggle switch or black push button which is your valet switch.with key on either flick the toggle switch or hold the button in until the alarm goes off.then it will be in valet mode.car should start

I need help to reset the car alarm. There is no keyless remote. It's a clifford alrm. It started fine then when i turn the car off the alarm light was blinking and now i can't start the car

Look under the dash for a little button that youll push to bypass the alarm. If not one you will need to disconnect the alarm sysem and remove it. It is useless to you anyway without the key pad
