Also, what is the proper replacement battery? Many thanks for your help.
I'm a watch fan, but not an expert. This nice piece appears to employ a Miyota OS80 movement, judging by the 12Hr alarm toggle. I have a Jacques Cantani (Titan?) Alpina 720 with the same movement. I just replaced the battery a few days ago by strange chance. It was a very straightforward replacement and you'll only need a decent opener good vision and patience. The battery is a 399 aka SR927W (or sw).
I've just verified the movement and battery.
This is a nice full-sized Citizen movement that will fill your Blackhawk case without those cheesey plastic spacers.
Cheers, Jidza
Exact replacement battery you can find written on the original battery.
Do not mind the manufacturer or the letters, because they can vary. Just make sure you are buying the well known manufacturer battery, e.g. SONY, MAXELL, CEIKO, CITIZEN, RENATA, TOSHIBA, YAMAHA, etc.
The most important thing is to EXACT match of the numbers as they are giving the exact code of the battery.
EXAMPLE: Lets say: your battery have some letters and the number 1616. That means: your battery is 1.6 cm in diameter and 1.6 mm in height (thickness), or: 1.6cmX1.6mm, or simplified 1616.
As I said- do not mind the letters, as different manufcturers are using different letter codes (for quick in-house reference) and these letters have no use for you.
So, if you are ready to follow - open your watch caseback and take the battery out. Write down ALL the letters and numbers of that battery.
If you expierance any difficulties to open the watch - let me know.
Do not forget to rate, please.
