My dell dimension keeps beeping - Dell Dimension 8200 PC Desktop

You should have 4 small led lights on the rear that say A, B, C, and D that are diagnostic lights, what color are those?

Two beeps means your motherboard RAM having some problem.
If you have two RAM install .Try to remove one and keep another .
Start your system and chek , if still problem is not solve better to contact with tech person.

Note down the beep rhythm. The table of Dell "Beep Codes" will tell you what's wrong in the computer (could me memory, CPU, bus, or video card).

Hi,

Vista is available in 32 and 64 bit os.
if your system ran xp which was most likely 32 bit. And you have installed a 64 bit version os.
this will be your problem, also Vista requires more system RAM/Memory to run it.
If you get 1 beep at startup, it states the system is ok.
Alternatives are device drivers incompatability.
Check M$ website, regarding vistas minimum system requirements.
