Maytag performa washing machine

I see you are an expert here. Hope you can advise me some. My washer fills up fine but when it gets full it starts draining and the water keeps trying to fill it but it all drains out and the water continues to run until we manually shut it off. I would say this happens about 65 percent of the time. It also does the when it gets to the rinse cycle. The water will just keep running and not fill up and it just sits on rinse until we manually move it to spin.
Any suggestions?

Yes im a expert (laugh)...your drain hose is to low..the drain hose must go up the height of the unit abut 3 feet before it can go down...now if you have your drain hose connect directly to your drain pipe ,,the waste pipe will **** the in coming water right out of unit,,we call this a sphion effect...booth easy fixs,,,onthejob

Grinding sound during agitation cycle on my Maytag Performa

Its probably you stator plate and rotor. But you need special tools for this repair. There a spring that is under 200 pounds of pressure and if you take the screws off that hold the plate its going to fly into you face if your dont use the special tools to depress the spring. Is it more of a clanking kinda of noise? DOes it olnly happen with heavy loads? Try this out. Fill the washer with water only. and get it into a wash cycle with water only. If there is no noise then put in like a load of towels. A heavy load. Now if you hear the noise now then its for sure you stator plate and rotor..hope this helps, but like i said you need those special tools to do this repair or injury can result from the spring part.

Just rehook the clear tube back onto the air dome (back right side of drum), drain any water from the drum, the refill, pressure switch will reset itself. Start to fill on small load size first, then move up when washer starts to be sure it reset all the sizes.
