Be able to pick up incoming calls from all front office phone sta

Our existing system is set up where all incoming calls ring at our receptionists station only. Our receptionist position is presently vacant and we would like to have all incoming calls to ring into ALL of our front office phone stations so that several of us can "man" the incoming phone calls.

Get a copy of the manual here

http://www.cactcom.com/Manuals/Vodavi/Vodavi%20DHS/Vodavi%20Starplus%20DHS%20Installation%20And%20Maint%201995.PDF

Looks like you can group the stations together and then any one of them can answer incoming calls. See page 45 or so.

I apologize for offending you in any way, and I would appreciate your telling me what I said that was unappropriate. I did respond with a copy of the correct manual, so if you can change your comment, I would appreciate, if you feel that I made corrections (note "appropriate" can be interpreted a number of ways.).

NEC Dterm80 phone, Model DTH-16D-2. We have an Extension that rings as a back-up to the main attendent/receptionist in the event she cannot answer an incoming call. I need to disable the incoming ring at...

Hi if you just want to silence the actual unit, most often you will find a small switch on the unit, that switches OFF the ringer, or often one can turn it down, via a control on the unit. Other times one can set it Off or down in volume via the settings, use the manual in these case to ascertain what to do.

www.southwesterntel.com/.../ITH-IP%20Installation%20Manual.pdf -

Above is a manual so you can check exactly what and how to do what you want.

If this cannot be done, then take the phones case OFF, locate the "Ringer" and disconnect it from the board, problem solved.

How do I set phone to ring at my extention?

Partner, all releases.
Examples
Receptionist Call Routing. If you want calls to be answered by the receptionist first, set the lines at the receptionist’s extension to Immediate Ring and the lines at the users’ extensions to No Ring. (This is the factory setting)
Receptionist Backup. If you want all calls on a line to ring directly at users’ extensions -with the receptionist providing backup -set the line at the users’ extensions to Immediate Ring. Then set the line (or lines) at the receptionist’s extension to Delayed Ring. An incoming call that is not answered by a user within 20 seconds will also ring at the receptionist’s extension.
Programming
To change the way outside lines or pools ring at an extension:
  1. Press [ Feature ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ] [ System Program ] [ System Program ] [ Central Tel Program ].
  2. Enter the number of the extension to be programmed for Line Ringing. The green lights next to the line or pool buttons on the phone show the current Line Ringing settings for all lines assigned to the extension. (If a line is not assigned to a button, the green light next to the button is off.) The following ringing options can be shown by the green light next to the line button.
    • Immediate Ring - on steady
    • Delayed Ring - flashes slowly
    • No Ring - flutters quickly
  3. To change Line Ringing for any line, press the line or pool button until the button light shows the correct setting (the setting for the currently selected line or pool also appears on the display).
  4. Continue programming or exit programming mode.

Auto attendant does not pick

What kind of phone system? If Partner, it sounds alot like you lost all your programming, so the phone system isnt programmed to know where the voicemail is. So hwen a call comes in, the ports where the voicemail is, ring, so they pick up, but dont know what they are to do with the call, so they shove it to the receptionist.

#505 needs to be programmed, then #206, that will get you to at least asnwer incoming calls.

Need to know more, like WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM.

I want to pick up incoming calls from another extension

Yours may be different if your TA-308 is not a U.S. version, but the family is generally 40 picks up all calls in your group and 4+the ringing extension will pick it up. Just in case they have call pickup deny set (721) you'd have to cancel it with 720.

Inter-tel ECX 1000

You definitely can do this with a ECX feature set if you program the lines on the keys. You've got to program "Button Hopping" off in the system this automatically puts the first call on system hold when you press the line key for the second incoming call.
I don't think there's a limit to how many you can have on hold.
