My laptop (Toshiba A75-S209) froze and I had to manuallyshut it off to restart it. When it restarted it came up with the blackscreen/white letters that reads:
''We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not startsuccessfully...etc...''
And it gave me options as to continue in ''Safe Mode'' and to continuenormally...I've tried each of the options and each one results in attempting toload Windows XP then a blue screen that flashes really quickly with white wordsbut my computer shuts off automatically, not giving me time to read any of it.It restarts on its own and does the same thing. I've tried not selectinganything and letting it ''start windows'' in its own ''in 30seconds''. And still it goes to the blue screen.
And then it says that it could be because ofhardware/software that's been unproperly downloaded or something and to makesure that it's downloaded correctly. But I can't get on the computer to dothat! (Keeps shutting off after that.).
I tried to reformat the HD but it shuts itself off over andover again. I am at a loss of what to do.
Well...i'm a technician...one of my customers had the exact same problem. After I disassableded the laptop i figured it out...it was a short circuit inside...this laptop had problems with the power supply too, and i had to connect a second power jack to it. Please Pmme if you are still interested in fixing this...
It's definately no RAM, it can look like it's in properly when it's not, don't be afraid of giving it a good push! Also check the fan is still working as it will switch off if it's over heating
Put in a new stick of ram.it keeps restarting because there is no memory to use to boot up windows.
Well what you can try to do is to perform a system restore on your computer by going into... the recovery console of your windows by using the winxp reinstal disc... the link to perform the following operation is mentioned below:-

I am not able to do this because the laptop shuts off. I boot the laptop to the CDrom and the recovery starts but the laptop turns itself off.
