I installed drivers for my canon faxphone l75 in vista to my window 8 computer and I can not still install the printer what can i do

I have a hp computer with windows 8. I am trying to install a network printer by using my canon faxphone l75, I can not find the driver for canon under windows 8, so i downloaded under windows vista. when I try to install the printer it says that the file is not the driver for the faxphone. Any help would be appreciated

You could try install under Trouble shooting mode by right clicking the executable setup. Other than that, is just waiting for Canon to provide a Win 7 / 8 driver.

try to disable your virus protection and then uninstall and reinstall it again. If you have virus software, the system is preventing from installing malicious programs. Or incomplete software or incompatible software is the problem

Before You Begin the Installation:

Do Not Connect.
Do not connect the USB cable to the port on your computer at this time. When you begin the installation of the software, the installation program will prompt you when it is appropriate to connect the printer to your computer.

Cancel new hardware detection.
As a reminder: If your system displays a found new hardware dialog box, click Cancel, and then disconnect the USB cable from the port on your computer.

Turn on your computer. Start Windows.
If you have not already done so, turn on your computer and start windows.

Close all applications.
If any Windows applications (including any virus checkers) are open, close the applications. With the applications closed, you must ensure that the software installs properly.

If your current printer purchase is replacing a MultiPASS printer, you must remove the MultiPASS software installed on your system before installing the new printer. For instructions on removing the MultiPASS software, see the software user's guide that came with your MultiPASS software.
