I have two showers in my house, the spare shower, after use, will drip for days, but the water pressure is perfect and heats up great The other shower has much less water pressure, takes a long time to heat up, but does not leak at all... how do a fix the drip, and how do i increase the water pressure?

hi it sounds as though the thermostat has gone on top of the can assembly, or moreover it has scaled up & the element needs replacing, if thats the case your better off buying a new unit as the cost of the can assembly & the fitting it will be nearly as much, plus witha new unit you'll be getting a 2 yr guarantee?
Just a thought!

If it is dripping from the connection where it goes to the water spout you can unscrew the connection and wrap teflon tape or Pipe Joint Compound on the Threads. Now you can Thread the Shower Head Back on, with No Leak. IF..... It is leaking from the Shower Head Itself There May Be a Problem with the diverter handle/lever. If it has a Pull Type Lever, sometimes you can screw the Lever up or down for the proper water restriction to the Shower Head. However if the Hot and Cold Handle/Lever is OFF, There should not be any Water coming out from anywhere! If water is coming out off the Tub Spout, with the Shower Off, then you will have to replace some washers or Cartridges in the faucet(s) to stop the dripping. You can do this easily....Just Ask) Remember though, that some shower Heads may Drip for a Few Minutes After they are Turned off. There is still water in the Supply neck and needs to escape, either though the tub Spout or Shower Head.......Hope this Solution Helps you with your Drips.....Joe

On the face of the shower head where the water sprays out of ,their should be a threaded nut to unscrew This is called the aerator. This is the part wher the filter screen is .Once you clean this part you should be up and running.

There is something caught in the hot side of the faucet manifold (main faucet body). You have to remove the trim and guts to access it. Use a flash light and look inside. Hopefully you can find the object. Oh by the way, you need to turn the water off to the whole house to do this. If you don't see anything have someone turn on the water slowly with the valve out of the manifold to rinse out the pipe leading to the valve body. Hopefully it will remove whats in there. If what you see is a white looking material that is stiff but brittle, then it's from the water heater and the water heater needs to be replaced. Sometimes there can be small stones that get "washed" into the lines when the main is worked on within the area of your home. But most likey it's from the water heater. Good luck! Don't forget to turn the water off before you remove the faucet guts.
