Fisher & Paykel wahsing machine GWL10 stuck in rinse cycle.

I have a 6 year old F&P GWL10 washing machine that is stuck in the rinse cycle. It recirculates water into the tub and will not drain. First the machine would not come on. A serviceman replaced the pump. Then the machine would power up. We started the wash cycle and it got to the rinse cycle and would not drain. So, the serviceman replaced the diverter valve. It still would not drain. It just recirculuates the water into the tub. The amount of water in the tub does not get higher or lower. The water just keeps coming in the tub, but won't drain. If you turn the power off and try to start over it starts in the middle or the wash cycle and starts to fill the machine with more water. Then we have to manually scoop the water out. We have invested over $200 so far in trying to get it to work. Because we live in a rural area in Indiana service calls are very
expensive. Do you have any suggestions as to what might be the problem? We are trying to decide whether to continue to spend more $$ trying to get it to work or just throw it over the hill and buy a new washing machine (not Fisher & Paykel, though!) Thank you!!!

I have a washer model GWL08 and am experiencing the same problem. It got as far as the rinse cycle and then stopped. I emptied out some clothes thinking I might have overloaded it and also changed the water level from auto to medium. It won't drain so I emptied out the clothes and water manually and took out the agitator to see if anything was stuck. There was nothing stuck so I turned off the machine and found this forum.

My fisher & paykel model GWL 11 won't finish the rinse cycle. The first time the water drained out but wouldn't complete the rinse cycle. I took out all the clothes and put in a couple of items and started the machine again. This time when it reached the rinse cycle it stopped with water in the tub.

I purchased this brand thinking it was suppose to be a much better machine. Having trouble within 3 years is not what I was hoping for.

If it is out of balance it will automatically return to a wash cycle to try and redistribute the clothes more evenly. Maybe the out of balance switch is faulty. More likely though is a faulty control board. If that then get a new washing machine. That model is over 20 years old. Not worth spending money on it.

I have a 10 year old Fisher & Paykel GWL10 washing machine. Fault code 1 is coming up. The machine turns completely off. The longer it cools down, the longer it goes before turning off again. This...

Code 1 - usually means on the later models of Fisher & Paykel is a faulty Motor Control Module, often though one would have to replace both as well as the display module.

Anyway - it sounds like the electronics are overheating hence the intermittent problems you are experiencing.

I have a fisher paykel GWL10 washing machine. It shuts off while

At this stage i can suggest that the inlet valve may be faulty & giving off this burning smell.open the control box & see if one of the 2 inlet valves look distorted or brown or burnt looking.I'm wondering if it's not filling very fast also, this could also be an indication of the valve.

The rinse and spin cycles never end

I have seen this often on another brand. Once it starts malfunctioning on the rince/spin cycle, the boars needs replacement.

Fisher and Paykel Smart Dribe 608

not familliar with that exact model number ( we dont have that over here in the US) we have simalair f&p gwl10- gwl11) that problem sounds as if either the pump is bad and overheating before pumping all the water or a diverter valve is not fully closing allowing water to remain in tub.

Fisher & Paykel GWL10 US won't spin

its possible that the pump is either going bad or there is somethin gin the pumps/sump assy. on this model the unit generally tends to shut down when the pump overheats, and will only restart when the pump cools off, a warnig obout replaing hte pump if need be is the pump is actually 220v. you MUST UNPLUG MACHINE BEFORE SERVICING. its a foriegn brand remember so theres abuncha wierd wiring and the pump is one of them!
