If an inkjet printer gives white streaks where it should be black, it means the ink is very low, or there is dirt under the nozzles preventing it from printing properly, or, in the case of non original cartridges, ink might be leaking which prevents the bubbles of ink to squirt onto the page.
If the streaks are black where it should be white, is sounds like some dust or fluff below the cartridge leaves ink smears on the page.

Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic ink or refill their Brother ink cartridges. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability since the ink formulation in genuine Brother ink cartridges prevent smearing and clogging of the print head. The Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem that was caused by the use of unauthorizedthird party ink and/or cartridges.
If the ink cartridge is new and has not been installed into the machine, please do not install the ink cartridge. Place the ink cartridge back into the ink cartridge packaging and call the Brother Customer Service Department at 1-800-284-4329 for assistance.
If the ink cartridge has been installed into the machine and ink has leaked inside the machine, do not remove the ink cartridge from the machine.
Please contact Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 7:00pm EST, excluding holidays.
If this started after cartridge was replaced, then it is probably defective.
Take the cartridge out and take a look at the print head. Clean the print head. Put the cartridge back in Try and feed paper (not printing anything on it, if you can not get it to just feed paper, print a blank page) and see if it still has lines. If so, you are probably going to have to clean ink from inside the paper feed area. If not, try using it for a while and if it starts again, get a replacement cartridge. You might want to save some of the bad prints to show the clerk and try to get the new cartridge under warranty.
Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following: Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer? If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges. They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead. Don
This is more than likely a ink cartridge failure. If you are using after market/or refilled ink cartridges, I would try an OEM cartridge to clear the problem. The non-OEM ink has probably clogged the nozzle.
Change the cartridges, run a deep cleaning on all colors, run alignment and the test page. The problem should clear up.
Sometimes non-OEM inks are not up to specifications and cause this problem.
Let me know if this clears the problem.
Please make sure to rate this solution. Thanks.
as i can suggest you that it can be the problem of head clogged internally where you insert your black cartridge .and the other main cause is while you give a head cleaning command to get the cartridge cleaned it sucks or pulls the ink from the cartridge in such a huge quantity that 3-4 cleanings make the cartridge totally empty .due to this the ink gets very low and the printouts come with streaks.many a times setting the print mode in best makes the copy perfect.but the printing gets too slow in that best mode.
