The beeps are telling you there is a hardware failure (POST). The number and length of beeps will give a better indication as to what has failed. Write back with that info and someone on this web site will interpret this for you.

If your power supply is bad, there is typically a much cheaper way to fix it rather than purchasing a new one.
If you know a little about electronics or know someone who does have them open up the power supply and check the capacitors. Often times when a power supply goes bad its the result of capacitors going bad.
If you notice on the ends of any capacitors a brownish/whitish discharge or "bulging" then the capacitor has gone bad.
A new one typically cost less than a dollar and replacing it is fairly easy if you know how to solder.
Let me know if you have anymore questions and hopefully if this is the case you can save some money.

Hi,
Download the manual for the laptop, which will give details of how to replace/reseat components.
The manual may also include explanations of those beep-codes if the
bios was made or adjusted by Acer themselves, so you should look for
that.
You can download a manual, and other Acer stuff, from here....

There are numerous issues that could cause this but if absolutely nothing happens, no lights, no fans, nothing then check the power supply. Use a simple voltage tester to see if you have any voltage on the connectors going to the hard drive and cd/dvd drives. If not this is a pretty easy and relatively inexpensive fix.
