There is no such button. What part # was on the replacement control board? Your model also has an INVERTER used to control the compressor... When the machine is turned "on" does the fan in the freezer and the fan near the compressor run? Is there any frost on the back wall of the freezer, or is it room temp? GE Inverter Board WR49X10283 These two parts control compressor function on your fridge, the first two are the expensive parts called for by your model number- the second two are identical function, but cheaper part number!

You changed the main control board---is that the main mother board on the outside back wall of the refrigerator???? If not then the mother board may need changed. Part number WR55X10942. Just about every part of the refrigerator operation runs through that board. If you did change that already I would look for possibly a bad wiring connection to the dispenser system. There is usually wiring and plugs going through the hinge area of the door with the dispenser in it. some are at the top hinge some at the bottom depending on model number.

In regards to all the answers above, where did u guys get the answers? It is totally off. U guys should know the correct answer n know what u r talking about before u attempt to give it. Check the model #.
Fyi, with this particular model, the compressor is on top of the fridge, along with the condenser, condenser fan. The evaporator is right on top of the freezer. A drain pan is under the evap, when in defrost, water drains over to the pan under the compressor to the right.
So for all u 'technicians' out there. Check ur knowledge n answer before u give it. It'll help the consumer much better!

The WR51X322 Defrost Heater Assembly

could be burned out in your model. Can you look inside the fresh food section and find the model number for me. The answer to the problem on your model depends on having the correct model number so I don't miss other parts that may cause a defrost failure. I know you said Monogram Side by Side but that does not tell me for sure what the Model Number on your refrigerator is. If your model is like the models in the GE Monogram Refrigerator Service Manual the I can have an idea of those parts. Those models have the defrost controls as part of their motherboard and that board does not fail at least in the defrost part of the board. defrost very often. Can you cut the inverter open and look at the board for swollen capacitors or burn marks like these HERE Here is one of my earlier post about a=> 48" GE Monogram ZISS480NRISS Refrigerator It may be necessary to order both the motherboard and the inverter board for your model and return the parts not needed.
