Camera wont take photo

By default the AE/AF Lock only holds while you hold down the AE/AF Lock button on the back of the camera. If you've changed the configuration so that this button locks the AE/AF, you can unlock it either by pressing the button again or by turning the camera off and on again.

Flash needs more battery power than daylight photography. It sounds like your battery is no longer up to the job.

This is the AF Illuminator function. Turns the AF Assist light on or off. If on, the light automatically illuminates in dark shooting conditions.

flash unit is failed,replace it

your lcd is done. sony does a flat rate repair. usually its not economical to fix. new sonys start around 150

use close up mode on camera (flower mode). turn off flash and light jewelry with other light source like sun light or other photo lighting (like light box or photo lamps).

Try and put the camera in the program mode.

This camera is eleven years old, and is probably worn out

try going to the user manuel to see of to turn your red eye reduction on and off turn of then reset your flash it should work then

If for any reason this doesn't work then post again for a fix, in emergency you can stick a few pieces of black pvc electrical tape over the flash - any glue left afterwards will come off with cotton wool and a little cleaning alcohol/rubbing alcohol (dont saturate it).
